Finding bits chuck into the my Hammer(Felder) horizontal slot mortiser has been a challenge! Because the chuck is mounted on the end of jointer/planer cutter head, the bit is spinning at ~5000rmp. And most bits and end mills are not engineered for that fast. Felder makes some nice bits but they only offer them in metric and everything else in my shop is set up for imperial. What a relief to find these birds mouth bits! They cut relatively clean mortises and have a substantial cutting length which is super helpful. Is the narrow 1/4” size there is some “whipping” which isn’t great. But no issues with this 5/8” size. They do need to used very gingerly—in hardwood like cherry, they need to be advanced only an 1/8” plunge and then slotting at time—or they will overheat and burn. Still, going super slowly, these are a effective tools.

I purchased a Laguna 1836 wood lathe. This was not a small purchase for me. Toolstoday's price was about $500 less than other sites for the same model. They delivered it to my door 2 weeks ahead of the projected date and used a lift gate truck at no extra charge. The lathe is great and service was fantastic. Will shop there again.

Very easy to find product on the website

Very disappointed i haven't received the item I ordered over 8 weeks ago. It would be nice if Toolstoday were more proactive in communicating shipping status. Instead it's all been on me to find out the answers. They took my money immediately for a back ordered product that has no timeline for receipt.
