Insightful phone service. Purchased the correct materials on the first go.

This is a well-constructed press (the wood handles are awesome), and would probably be the best first one to get if you had to pick between the different ones on Talas. I started with the #2 finishing press, which is also great, but the screws put the tension too low for smaller books, which causes the boards to yawn and get loose on the top. I got the #4 to use with some bricks for height and a french paring knife like a plough to trim edges. If you want to work on anything larger than A5 or so, you may want to go with the larger #3 press, but for smaller books this is a perfect size!
