I work with a variety of papers for printmaking and collage. I appreciate the wide selection of quality papers at Talas. I am grateful that a real person answers the phone - and the paper is always safely packaged - and shipping is pretty quick. Most excellent for artists like me!

I purchased Talas C-Gampi paper for use with kallitypes. The kallitype process involves coating a sensitizer solution on the substrate, and after exposure, there are multiple processing baths, including developer, toner and fixer, with washing baths after each. This paper is a challenge to work with as it is so thin, and when you apply the sensitizer, the paper is completely saturated through to the other side. When processing in the baths, it turns translucent and is difficult to handle. I had previously used some Gampi paper from another manufacturer years ago and it behaved similarly but was still sturdy enough to stay together; this paper started to disintegrate in the baths (see photo), and though parts of the dried-down print can still be cut out and used, and the resulting dried paper has a beautiful tone and sheen, I probably would not recommend it for alt processes that require sustained periods in baths. I can always use the paper for other purposes though, thus the 2 stars.

The glue is good, but I ordered it in winter and it came spoiled, no one returned the money for it, they said that it should have been read in the description, so I don't recommend buying it in winter.

Wouldn’t know. The order was delayed 3-4x. (And counting). I’m still waiting. Each delivery is updated with a new delivery date. I would pay more for delivery dates as fast as Hollanders.
