I used Southtree twice to digitize a number of mini-DV tapes and send me DVDs. First time (15 tapes) went great, no issues or complaints. Second time (5 tapes, just completed) resulted in both digital downloads and DVDs containing black and white videos, instead of the expected color videos. Given the fact that all 5 tapes were black and white, I take this to be an issue at the Southtree end, not an issue that suddenly affected all my tapes. I wrote to customer service a week ago, but received no acknowledgment and no reply. Unless they respond and this is resolved / explained, I would not recommend using them and will not do so myself.

I used a new credit card for purchase at Southtree, 2 hours later my card was hacked. Contacting Southtree to complain, I was left a message that perhaps it was taken elsewhere and that their site uses Shopify to process the payments. End of story! That’s not good enough, I want a follow up to Shopify to notify them that this happened. It was the first time I used this card online. I had just received it and I do not usually shop online. Pushing off my complaint was not the way to handle this situation and I will tell everyone not to buy at Southtree.

I had standard video tapes and a mini-DV video copied to a thumb drive. The videos from both lag when I play them from the drive. I contacted Southtree support through an email. I haven't received a response.

Got my videos back better off trying someplace else if you're getting these done I ended up getting a three blank videos back even though my machine here shows videos on them not very happy with them at all

I had 10 reel to reel tapes from 1973 in my possession with no way to transfer them to digital. I did not want to buy a reel to reel tape machine, as they are temperamental to operate and expensive to buy used. Southtree digitized all of them and I had the digital versions within just a few weeks. Outstanding!

Southtree did a fantastic job digitizing my old videos. The website was user friendly and the box came with very specific directions. Once your videos arrive at Southtree they send updates. The videos were returned on a flash drive in great condition. I enjoyed watching hours of memories that I hadn’t seen in years.

overall, very well done a few slides were sideways or upside down when I called customer service, the lady was less than helpful

Southtree promises they can convert all slides but could not do my metal-framed slides, which was a real disappointment.

Excellent communication and service.

The inability to select the number of items - somehwere between 2 and 10, is very frustrating. To have 4 items transferred - and small ones at that (casettes and 8 mm tapes - fitting into a sandwich size baggie), means having to place 2 orders, and deal with two very large shipping packages, or pay for twice as many.
