Bought these as a gift for my son's wedding, with an additional 6 1/2" Shun Nakiri. Haven't opened these, but I received the same set when I was married 25yrs ago, and gave them to my god daughter 5 years ago. I can't say enough about them. I am a knifemaker myself, but I can't compete with the quality, sharpness and aesthetic of your classic series.

I like this knife for both apples and potatoes. It also comes in handy for match sticking smaller amounts of cucumbers and carrots for wraps.

Love this knife block. Be warned though. . . the empty slots are practically calling out to be filled with additional knives - LOL.

Disappointed, wood block does not hold fork. honing rod doesn't realy match the other handles of the five knives I have purchased.

The sale price I got on the knife block and classic 13 inch brisket knife makes me smile righting this review
