Impossible to set up unless WiFi is 2. 4ghz. No way to convert, apparently no way to upgrade so product will be what? Trash in a year or two??? Very frustrating.

We haven’t used our sprinkler system for two years and are going to start using it this summer. I’m not sure what kind of app the developer made—maybe a high school student—but it is absolutely not user-friendly. The person who did some work on the broken sprinkler had to manually set everything every time he tested and fixed it because he said he couldn’t do it with the phone I gave him. Installing a new controller from another company would cost $220, so I am considering getting a different one. I guess good reviews were added internally by the company, not by real users.

Rachio Smart Hose Timer is awesome! Since they added the ability to use more than 1 valve at a time it is now the garden star. I use 1 valve as a primary valve at the house and run a 200ft hose to the garden where I have 3 "zone" valves. That way I do not have to run 3 hoses to the garden and I don't need to leave the primary 200ft hose under pressure when it is not in use. I never have a problem with wireless range and they always water on time.

The unit came quickly and the website pointed me to a rebate from my water district. So that was cool. The initial setup was a little convoluted, but we got there in the end.
