Had a large interior double door get damaged in shipping. Krosswood documented the photos I took and replaced the damaged panel with no questions asked. Although it was a delay of my project, I couldn't have been happier with the service I received. Cindy in the call center did a nice job!
Both doors are well done!! However I thought they were going to be stained. They upgraded our house for sure.
Warping-Our Krosswood Craftsman Knotty Alder Door We purchased a Krosswood Craftsman Knotty Alder front door for our home in July 2023 from Home Depot in Massena. Drove from Ottawa, Canada for the one hour pick-up, as the product was not available at HD in Canada. Upon receiving the unfinished door which was pre-hung in a frame with a side lite, we stained all six sides with a high quality outdoor stain, and then applied an outdoor protectant, for wood exterior doors. It warped within 6 months and no help from Krosswood.
Hello thanks for reaching out. We have today finally unpacked the door as the constructor started the install. Besides the point one set of hinges was missing. Double door only delivered with one set of hinges. The biggest issue is the color. We paid 500 USD to get the door painted redwood and we have received a barely stained door. Clearly this does not look at all like the door color we ordered online and it is not solid painted. In addition, the class has some color dots on it which we have no idea how to remove. We also now need the correct paint for this door. as we don't know what to use for fiberglass. Can we just send the door back and you provide us witha correctly painted door? Through Home Depot I ordered 7 interior solid core doors. The shipment arrived with 6 doors. Called Home Depot and they sent the wrong door. Re-ordered the correct door, It showed up beat up in shipment. Ordered again, damaged again. Ordered a third time, arrived damaged. The packaging is extremely piss poor. Box falling open, missing hardware, etc. Every door that has shipped by UPS has been thrown, kicked and who knows what. The shipping cartons are great to go across town, not across the USA. Your packaging engineer needs to be fired. The quality control of the product itself is very lacking. Every door has had to have considerable adjustments to fit correctly and function properly. Not such a great product for the money. Mortise cuts out of spec. Pre-drilled attachment holes out of alignment or no existent. Last time I would ever order these products. I will be passing the word around also. The production manager needs to step up and get a handle on things. QUICKLY DEFINITELY NOT EVEN CLOSE TO HAPPY. This whole order has set my schedule back into the toilet.
The door seems great but delivery days missed the install date by weeks and installation instructions were incomplete. The delivery slat fixed to the base of the door frame did not come off easily given the aggressive staples. The installation instructions could have provided directions on the removal of this slat and also the two screws at the top of the door
Delivery took longer than expected. When the door came, there were a couple spots on it that were missing stain. Bare wood in the seams.
I’ve scheduled a virtual consult 3 times and never received a call or email with a video call link.
This door is definitely not a DIY project. Only a professional with the right tools and knowledge could have accomplished a perfect installation of this unit.
The door is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately they had send the wrong hinges with it and we had to wait to be able to install the door. Krosswood did send us a small refund so that we could purchase different hinges and after thst we were able to have to door installed.
Was told turn around time was 2 - 2 1/2 weeks its been over 2 months and still dont have the door and now they are pushing it out another month
Complete debacle from the start. Ordered in the beginning of October. Half the doors shipped. Now they say they will send the rest by the end of December. Doors that did show up were warped and the prep work on the pre-hung jambs was like a 5 yard did the work.
The door was shipped to my contractor's office where there was a very tight shipping band across the door that left an indentation below where he installed the door knob. The band was so tight that it pressed the wood together making it thinner in one area and also made an indentation. I stained the interior of the door after it was installed. I noticed that there were multiple wood variations making the entire door look bad. Stain soaked into the wood making some areas very dark that can't be sanded out or bleached to lighten. The area where the band was located wouldn't accept stain. It was also difficult matching stain since I didn't know what type of wood the door was made of plus and no samples of wood available except where the door knob was cut to match stain. I would greatly appreciate knowing what to do next. Please advise.
The door I purchased is beautiful. I had ordered it stained and it would have been nice to have a small amount of stain sent with the door to help me with matching the stain for any blemishes that it might receive in the future. It would also be even better if I could have sent you a sample of my stained trim that you could have color matched because there is a slight discrepancy between the stain color of my door and the pre-existing trim. Evidently you don’t offer a knotty alder door jam for a 2x6 wall. Wanted one but it came in at 4 3/4” instead of 5 9/16”. Hinge pocket cut outs were incomplete. Latch was 3/4 inch off from strike plate and wouldnt latch. Needless to say a lot of field corrections were necessary. Not the quality control I’ve received in past orders!
I spent close to two hours carefully, removing all of the residue around each window inside and out that was left from the glue or whatever was used. After paying so much money for a door, I would have expected it to come cleaned. Also is there a place to submit a picture? The trim piece across the top is too short and we have a 2 inch gap. Need more trim

Ordered 2 high end doors of rustic alder. Beautiful doors, solid quality. A few minor areas had finish missing in crevice's and a scratch on one jamb, but they sent me a touch up kit and concealed perfectly. Doors are heavy but I was able to maneuver myself and I am in my early 60's using a 4 wheel dolly. I installed the first one and was perfect. . . (see photo). The second one could not install not due to anything from Krosswood , but this barndominium has a steel back door integrated into framing and could not remove. $2500 mistake but did not know until removing base and trim and drywall. I happen to be constructing an 500 sq ft entertainment room in the shop area myself and will use it here . I liked the doors so much I plan on using that discount and buying a door blank of the same door and match the hinges and door mortising. Glad I found you after shopping H. D. Love buying made in America!
The door that we got was outrageously good. My wife is so very happy with it. The only problem we had was the shipping company. The first time I called them, I was told that it would be delivered in 2 to 3 days. The second time I called, it was 2 to 3 weeks. Every time I called, I was told something different. It was just over a week for delivery for such a great door!
If I could give negative stars, I would, but wasn't given the option. I was originally planning to buy through Home Depot but a rep from Krosswood convinced me in a chat that I would receive superior service and shipping if I bought direct through Krosswood at an additional cost of $300 more than Home Depot. What a HUGE mistake!! They only shipped me 2 of the 4 doors i ordered, then 3 weeks later I got another delivery of 1 more door, at which point them told me they were out of doors and would not have anymore for months! Each shipment came on huge custom palettes that were heavily stapled together that I had to dispose of at additional cost to me. When I asked to be refunded and have the doors and palettes they came on picked up and sent back, they sent zero instructions so that when the freight partner came to pick them up, they were not strapped down properly and they would not take them. Finally, after all this, Krosswood just said, "we don't want em back, you deal with em". What a giant waste of time, resources, space, and money!!! Do not buy from this company, they do not know what they are doing!!!
