I have one suggestion: I think your measurement program begins with the outside dimensions and then attempts to calculate the mat window and its position to the frame . . Based on many years of experience I would posit that most artists will start with the artwork or the inside dimensions and work out to establish all of the above.

I really liked the frame sample — excellent quality, and the appearance fully met my expectations. The only thing to note is that the overlap is quite deep. I plan to use the frame without a mat, so this is important to consider. Having the sample made it easy to see how much of the image the frame actually covers. If I had relied only on photos, the visible image size could have been a surprise. Also, with this amount of overlap and no mat, the photo will either shift inside the frame or need to be additionally secured. Having the sample helps understand this in advance. It might be helpful to include the overlap dimensions directly on the technical drawing — especially for customers ordering frames without a mat.

I've had great experience in the past with American Frame, and when I contacted customer service for an issue, they responded helpfully, but that I had to contact them at all was frustrating and a first after many years of being a customer. Every item came "stickered" - even the paper goods (mats and mount board) and the stickers did not pull off well, leaving unsightly rips. Will you see this when everything is put together? No, but I did not like that. And all the elements I ordered came packed up inside the frame and sealed up with framers points - a frustrating and unnecessary situation to deal with before I could use the frame. American Frame used to ship elements separately, and I learned I now need to request "no framers points" when ordering. Anyway, the frame and elements are good, but my experience was stressful and off-putting.

Easy to navigate website and my question was answered promptly. The frames were extremely well packed. I am a very happy customer.
