All In Japan April 2018
This was a wonderful first Japan trip. I loved the itinerary; we covered so much in 2 weeks. Mark Fujishige was the best tour leader I experienced! He was so organized, had everything planned out and ready for us, in stressful situations (when we lost people in our group - including me) he stayed calm. He was such a knowledgeable guide, but did not talk constantly. He surprised as with little bites of local specialties. When someone looked for something differently or wanted to explore a place not in the plans, he made sure, the person could do it. For example, I wanted to see the famous fish market in Tokyo and asked him only once at the beginning of the tour. The last days we spent again in Tokyo, he handed me a map with detailed info, a 10 min. walk from our hotel. He was so considerate of each of us. Also, when we had a little time of our own and it was over lunch time, he passed each of us a cute little envelope with the funds. I have never experienced such detail and service from a tour guide. He must have worked non stop when we relaxed and slept. We all loved the special activities, unusual for the regular tourist: paper making, drum lesson, Geisha audience, theater performance, wagashi pastry making, meditation with Zen priest, engraving black lacquer to be dusted by gold. The local Tokyo tourist guide pointed also out to have a espresso drink with our photo which several of us did and it was so much fun. Another treat, Mark pointed out, was gold covered ice cream. Mostly all of the group went one night bowling and they had lots of fun. (I needed a down time and enjoyed a massage instead.) I am traveler who wants to immerse in the culture by walking, meeting the people. I don't mind sweating and being exhausted in the evening but I do expect upscale lodging and good food. Mostly all hotels covered my expectations. Unfortunately, the Kisshotel in Kaga Onsen was a disappointment. The ryokan stay should have been a highlight. The hotel needs upgrading; sta...

Best Trip I've Ever Been On!
I've dreamed about visiting Machu Picchu since I was a little kid, so I've always had high expectations for how the trip would pan out. My adventure with Global Basecamps exceeded my expectations tenfold! Our coordinators did so much to organize the perfect trip for me, my husband, our 9 friends and my parents. We had the absolute best time, and everything was seamless. We participated in the 4-day trek which was less of a camping trip and more of a luxury vacation! The accommodations we had in town were amazing - clean, comfortable and right in the heart of the town. Our transportation was always already waiting for us, our guides were the kindest and most knowledgeable people ever ... everything was perfect. Looking forward to booking my next trip with this wonderful company!

Stunning Chilean Patagonia
We enjoyed a 2-week tour of Chilean Patagonia that was memorable for its people, wine, scenery, diversity and special brand of eco-tourism. Torres del Paine is not to be missed. The amazing range of Mapuche-inspired foods and Chileans wines were wonderful. Highly recommend a stay at Eco-Camp in Torres del Paine.

Peru, machuPichu
I don’t know where to start, this trip was beyond amazing! It was the best trip of my life. Valentina did an awesome job with itinerary, everything was planned well to get the most of this trip. The highlight of this trip it was definitely the Inca trail. The crew was amazing, the tour guide Freddie was one of the best out there and we can’t thank him enough for his patience and for smooth adjustment to the new environment for us. The hotels were great as well, with friendly staff, and the best was the last one of course the Incaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo hotel. It felt like we were in haven. The hotel was not just beautiful, but also convenient because it was in walking distance from the train. Also, the Lima itinerary was well done too, we enjoyed everything, but most of all the culinary tour. It was amazing, and also they incorporated showing the neighborhoods we went to eat. Thank you Valentina and Global base Camp for making this trip one of the best for us.

You won't regret going with Global Basecamps
I just returned from an incredible 10-day trip to Morocco arranged by Laura Roundy. She had also arranged our honeymoon a couple of years ago to Indonesia, which was simply divine. Global Basecamps has proven yet again that they are the best at creating and tailoring itineraries to exactly what their customer is looking for. We have never had to worry about anything - we just show up, and everything is taken care of on our behalf. Global Basecamps has created the most beautiful memories for us, and we will continue to use them well into the future. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking to maximize the potential of their travels.

Best trip ever- Argentina!
This was the first time using global Basecamp as travel agent and I cannot say enough great things about them. All of our travels and tours in hotels were just perfect. It made the trip very low stress as everything was taken care of and we had a great time. They were easily accessible if we have questions. The local travel agency also was able to help us with a lost luggage issue along with global Basecamp. Will definitely use them again in the future. Thanks Laura Roundy and team!

The trip of a lifetime through Southeast Asia
We enjoyed an 18 day trip with stops in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. The logistics were completely handled with no hiccups. The guides provided local knowledge about history and culture while guiding us to the "right" sights at the "right" time. The hotels were boutique, historic and unique accommodations with excellent service. Global Basecamps staff made sure that they understood what we were looking for and delivered an experience that was even better than we could have imagined.

Awesome team
I can't say enough good things about Global Basecamps, especially Valentina Michaels, who put together a terrific South African itinerary for me. She answered all of my questions, gave great advice and really worked to make the trip something I would enjoy and remember for the rest of my life. I'm in the process of booking my second trip with them. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to travel around the globe.

Southerland (now Hanolds) Costa Rica trip
We absolutely loved our trip to Costa Rica. The best part was having all of the transportation and excursions taken care of. We just showed up and had a great time, and all the spare time you’d spend planning or worrying we spent having a blast. All of our drivers and guides were on time, super friendly, bilingual, helpful, and each resort (Xandari and Si Como No) was clean, beautifully maintained, and the staff were friendly as well. Each resort clearly expressed their love for keeping Costa Rica natural and providing protection to the forests and wildlife that make it great. For the future we may not stay at as fancy place as Xandari, we spent a lot more there but definitely enjoyed the luxury stay for our honeymoon! Si Como No was as great as we remembered from 2012, the view from our room was incredible, and perfect (drinks and food wise) for our spending budget. We more enjoyed that area due to the fact we could walk to many fantastic restaurants, many that I am super sad I won’t be visiting for a while. Check out the falafel place and Cafe aqua azul for sure. Our favorite excursion was the catamaran, my husband loves to swim and eventually convinced me to jump off the top of the boat with him, which I admit was somewhat more fun than terrifying. Otherwise speaking though each excursion was great. Charlie was super helpful and knowledgable at La Paz Waterfalls, i had a lot of fun there! Also took us to the best place to buy (bulk) coffee. The Manuel Antonio National Parque is like no other, and is worth a trip every time you are in there. Our guides were amazingly talented, one of ours saw a tiny rainbow grasshopper the size of a quarter in the forest. Like really?? Incredible. We hope to make it back for an anniversary trip sooner rather than later. We have so many great photos and videos to remember it all! Thanks to the Global Basecamps team for making it the trip of a lifetime.

Magical Adventures in Japan
What a magical trip to Japan! Laura Hagler meticulously planned and tailored our trip from Tokyo to Hakone to Naoshima to Kyoto, and it went perfectly — transportation, guides, tours, and time on our own. Japan is a beautiful country — old to new — and the people are truly amazing. Highly recommend!
