Another Wonderful Trip With Global Basecamps
This is our third trip with Global Basecamps. This time it was to Jordan. We went on a 6 day trek from Dana Reserve to Petra. Absolutely beautiful. Laura Hagler did a fantastic job with organizing our trip and her counterparts at Jordan Select were exceptional. We are so delighted to have found Global Basecamps. Thank you Laura and your team.

Family Vacation in Thailand!
Two weeks in Thailand and Global Basecamps nailed it! Allison Tucker really took the time to understand what kind of experience our family was looking for and then revised our itinerary accordingly until it was perfect. Our trip had everything... discovery, culture, active adventure and always a wonderful boutique hotel to return to at the end of the day. She even sent us off with a list of personal restaurant recommendations. Above and beyond in every way. We will definitely be calling these folks again for our next vacation.

Fascinating Chiapas
We just freturned from an 8 day trip to Chiapas in Mexico. Global Basecamps (Allison Tucker) did a great job arranging it and everything went very smoothly. The itinerary really helped us to get a good feeling for Chiapas and the Mayan culture. Our guide Guillermina and our driver Javier were excellent. Our accommodations were wonderful. We stayed at the Guayaba Inn in San Cristobal de las Casas and in the Boutique Hotel Chanabnal in Palenque, a very special and beautiful place! We had a great time! We really appreciated how easy it was to work with the staff of Global Basecamps and how consistently excellent their service has been.

Global Basecamps were fantastic. We
Global Basecamps were fantastic. We started from scratch and they were wonderful collaborators in building our dream honeymoon. Every step of the way was considered and executed without a fault. We’re certainly using them again for our next big trip.

My BUCKET LIST IS getting smaller
My daughter and I have just returned from the most organized tour of Peru and the icing on the cake was Machu Picchu. Our vacation was organized by Alison and she provided us with the best planned vacation ever. She paid attention to all the details in what we were looking for with this BIG ADVENTURE. Truly I can say the best vacation ever. All we had to worry about was hiking through the Andes and enjoying the beauty of our remote vacation. We didn’t have to worry about anything from being meet at the airport to our trekking personal guides and remote accommodations. Alison made my birthday climb so special and I can’t thank her enough as I entered through the SUNGATE on my day!!! I can hardly wait to start planning the next adventure Thank you to the WHOLE TEAM at Global Basecamps for being so attentive to all the details

We just finished a great
We just finished a great two week trip to Japan. Thank you to Laura and Danielle for organizing all the details for our trip. We were so very impressed by the support during our trip as well. We loved our guides in Tokyo, Takayama, Kyoto and Hiroshima. And thank you for helping us spend a great day on Naoshima Island. We have traveled a number of times and Global Basecamps is one of the best travel companies we have worked with.

Fantastic two weeks in the Fiji Islands
Both of the Fiji Island resorts you arranged for us (Nanuku Resort on Viti Levu and Savasi Island on Vanua Levu) were fantastic! Both had super-friendly staff, excellent meals, lovely settings and a host of fun activities. Some specifics: Our day trip to the Nanuku Resort’s private offshore island was magical. A small tropical paradise was all ours. We had Robinson Crusoe fantasies and snorkeled the surrounding reef while our guide hunted fish with his speargun to supplement our lunch. The resort’s grounds are beautiful and there was good snorkeling, kayaking, sailing and paddleboarding right off the beach (at our “doorstep”). We also took an exciting boat trip up a big river to reach an isolated jungle waterfall and swimming hole. Another highlight was a trip to a local village, where we got a taste of the Fiji communal culture. We also enjoyed visiting the fish market in the big city (Suva) and saw our first rugby match there (The Fiji team beat the New Zealand team. Yay!). The resort people were also very efficient at rebooking our flight to the other island after our scheduled flight was cancelled due to stormy weather. The setting of the Savasi Island Resort is also spectacular. It’s right on the shore of the private island and surrounded by jungle. The dining area (and our villa) have an expansive view of the surrounding reef, which offered great tide-pooling and snorkeling off the edge. Since we are big snorkeling fans we took their boat trip to three different reefs and saw some gloriously colored fish and coral formations. Some of the best snorkeling we’ve ever seen. Among other highlights were a kayak trip down a tidal river in the jungle to a serene inland lake and a nighttime snorkel to see the nocturnal creatures of the reef. My son and I also went on an afternoon fishing expedition arranged by the resort, which was highly successful. We landed two trevallys in the 15-20 pound range. Finally, the staff arranged a special dinner for our group in a coz...

we had a wonderful time
we had a wonderful time in Japan. Every aspect of our trip, train, guided tours, theatre, food tours was taken care of (vouchers, train), so we could concentrate on having fun and not worry about arranging everything ourselves.

South Korea was Great!
Everything was overall great with our trip to Korea. All the guides and excursions were superb and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. I will say Gyeongju's hotel was a bit less luxurious than the hotels in Seoul and Busan, but I believe that was a 4 star vs the others being I think 5 star hotels. There was nothing terrible about it - it was just noticeably different after staying at Novotel Seoul Dragon City. I would advise travellers to Korea use cash for most of their transactions, as we were hit with foreign credit card fees whenever we used our US cards. I didn't realize this until we got home and I reviewed our accounts. Accordingly, I would get the cash through a US bank prior to travelling - we got a nice discount from our bank. Might want to let future clients know when the "rainy season" is before travelling - I believe we were just on the tail end or middle of it. In Busan, we had downpours for our entire day of touring there so we had to make up for some of the missed tours the next day on our "free" day. Not that you recommended it, but we rented a SkyRoam hotspot/wifi (it was sent to our home in California) but it had pretty spotty service. Maybe something else could be recommended. All in all a great trip. My kids and wife are thinking about going again next year (Maybe Jeju Island??)

Vietnam. The most welcoming country I have ever been.
Everyone we met on our trip had a smile on their face. Every guide made our trip special. I have never been to a country that was so welcoming. Global Basecamps were great to work with. Hats off to Valentina and Lauren. They are the best.

Our Peru trip was amazing!
Our Peru trip was amazing! The guides and lodges and food was fantastic! The sights and trek was wonderful. Truly a memorable experience! The only issue we had was not enough time in Macchu Picchu. 4 hours was not enough time to explore and have our guided tour there.

My family and I had
My family and I had the time of our lives on our trip to Tanzania! Meg, our travel guide at Global Basecamps, put together an amazing itinerary for us, our trip guide Ali did a fabulous job taking care of us, driving us all over the parks, and making sure we had pictures of all the animals, and the local camp employees were so hospitable, and the food was great! I would highly recommend any and all of the folks who worked hard to make sure our trip was as successful as it was.

The staff and personnel associated
The staff and personnel associated with Global Basecamps did everything possible to make our trek in the Lares Area of Peru memorable and life changing. The areas we toured, our guides, accommodations, food, transitions to and from airports and hotels, in fact everything about the 10 days we spent in Cusco, Lares, and Machu Picchu was perfect. Thank you to Alison in California, and Nico, Eddie, Carlos, Sam and others in Peru for a great trek.

This was a great trip.
This was a great trip. It was not easy but our guide Jimmy was the best ever, and the rest of the crew, especially; Juan Carlos, Darwin and Enrique made every day special. Thank you for a wonderful memory.

Even though it was at
Even though it was at the end of our month-long trip and we were tired, we did enjoy our stay in Japan. The guides in Kyoto and Tokyo were very good, and we were pleased that the guide-day expenses were covered (transportation, food, entrance fees), even though we’d been told they would not be. We particularly like our “ryokan” in Hakone. It was wonderful to see the sites, especially temples, which provided a beautiful contrast with the ones we’d seen in Southeast Asia. We were very pleased with the arrangements made by Global Basecamps.

Our trip was wonderful...filled with wonder...the amazing landscapes, the animals. We saw the big five. Seeing both the black and white rhinos was special. Food was amazing. Not a regular meat eater, I enjoyed kudu, eland, orek and springbok! A truly beautiful country.
