Last week I was riding home from work on the Jones Falls Bike Trail in Baltimore City. As I passed through a wooded area, my bicycle spooked a deer and it attempted to jump across the trail. I never saw it and I slammed into the side of the deer going about 20 mph. The impact hurled me off the bike and I landed hard on my left side. My head slammed onto the asphalt of the trail with extreme force. It was without question the most violent thing I have ever experienced. I was barely able to stand up after the collision. I was completely disoriented and did not even know where I was. After multiple minutes pulling myself back together, I was able to continue riding home. I suffered a concussion, some severe lacerations to my elbow, and was incredibly sore for the next 3 days. I realized the next day that I have absolutely no memory of the rest of the ride home that evening. However, there is no doubt in my mind that I would be dead if I had not been wearing my Smith helmet. The force with which my head hit the ground was so extreme that it is difficult to convey with words. The helmet I was wearing was model #RD110 2-L. This helmet was 1 year old and was acquired last year immediately before a 1300 mile bike tour that included the Erie Canal Trail and the Ohio to Erie Trail down to Dayton, OH. I'm going to head up to REI tomorrow to purchase another helmet. I have always said that I wouldn't ride across a parking lot without my helmet. . . this recent experience has reinforced that belief. Once again, thank you for literally saving my life.

The worst customer service I ever experienced. Ended up spending money to correct problems that your bad quality defective product was supposed to be covered by warranty. . . had to pay for delivery, and at no point your company made me feel like you even feel responsible for quality . . or lack of it. . . . and reimburse me for my time wasted . . . just siht and will never buy anything from smith.

Smith is awesome in both product quality and delivery. They are my go-to sunglass and goggles.

Everything seemed good until I moved my head wearing my new lenses on my smith guides choice xl then the lens fell out. Bummer. . . .
