My hand out on this video class is dog eared because I referred to it constantly while focusing on my preempt bidding and defending game. It is one of the best classes that I have attended. It immediately made me more confident when the opps opened with a preempt, and when to successfully preempt myself. Run, don’t walk to buy this one. Donna is a wonderful teacher and always accessible for questions about the material or bridge in general.

We crave those super strong hands. Then, we finally get one, stifle the urge to scream WOW! at the table, and sedately open 2C. But what then? Partner fumbles his bids, we don't know how to explain the strength of our hand, and every other table, except us, finds the correct game. Or we bid game and every other table stops with the correct part score. What went wrong? This video is the answer! Donna clearly explains which strong hands should, and should not, be opened 2C. She then follows up with the most modern bidding sequences that opener and responder can use to find the correct game or part score. Partner and I watched this video together, stopping to rewind as needed, and came away feeling much more confident. We love knowing that we have been taught the most modern methods, methods supported by computer simulation, for bidding strong hands. Highly recommended!

I have been playing bridge for 6 years after taking an Intro course at a local club. I was playing with a lot of uncertainty which made it stressful. I thought that playing bridge had to be that way. Then I found Donna Compton. Donna's courses have relieved me of much uncertainty and stress . Bridge will always have uncertainties but her courses provide a systematic approach which has grounded my thinking and has made playing bridge a joy.

Donna Compton is an excellent teacher and explains things in a way that’s understandable and makes sense. I have several of her video lessons and attend the zoom mini-lesson as often as I’m able. This is a great learning resource and I know PBB has helped improve my skills.

During Covid I found PBB and I will never look back. Donna is the best bridge teacher I have ever had and that just hasn’t changed. Her logical, thought provoking approach to the game is unsurpassed. She is a born teacher. Classes are reasonably priced, all are amazing and her morning free lessons (Mon-Fri), wake my bridge brain up every morning. Don’ wait any longer to find and attend to PBB!

I highly recommend the weekday Bridge for Your Brain mini-lessons. Donna thoroughly describes a "big idea" with a bridge hand in a way that is easy to understand. Good for intermediates as well as beginners.

I've taken several of Donna's lessons and one of the biggest benefits I've found is that she is teaching me how to think. I didn't grow up playing cards and I have had to learn "card sense." Donna has a way about her that makes you feel very comfortable and she uses sayings that stick with you and pop into your brain when you are at the table or online. Now I think before I play, count my winners/losers and her lessons have taught me to see what the situation is and how to either get more tricks or what to do to best make my contract. Her bidding lessons are excellent and she teaches you that you have to be as good at defense as you are at playing the hand. Since her lessons are saved, it is easy and pleasurable to go back and review them unlike trying to find which book had that lesson and where in the book was that lesson.

Love the mini lessons. Love the games but wish there was a nite game.

Great course for beginners or those needing a refresher!

Donna is a great teacher and mentor!!! she writes the information and make every board herself and challenge u more every class. U can contact her during the day to ask any "stupid" question u might have and you'll get an answer right away. I would advice students to read the class in pdf format from their share drive a day prior or the same day before class and solve the boards in shark bridge in advance. Try to find a partner that you will learn with to push each other to complete the class the best u can. Please don't forget to pay with wallet to decrease the price of the class by 20%. The money per minute is well worth it. involve Marty (the great co-host) in any technical problem u might have. I learned so much from this class. Thanks Donna for making our brain work:)

Donna is such a great teacher and this class in no exception to her skills. So many times I've been in an auction where I know we have game and may have slam, but what to do? If I go straight to game that ends the auction. Donna leads us particularly in the use of 4th-suit forcing and when to use it and how to use it to find your fit and how high. The video that is included covers all 4 lessons with numerous examples and you can then bid and play them on Shark Bridge. I will be highly recommending this course to my partners!

Since 2020 I have taken lessons from Donna Compton. When she began these specially designed Fall and Winter courses 2023, in which she specifically covered Lessons which I had previously taken and took them apart methodically to piece meal each key feature , allowing y to make it y own in y time at a slower pace. The timing of each course allowed ample time for instruction with questions answered, and play of the hand to help y the player reinstruct you on the correct pattern of play. I highly recommend Donna Comptons classes, and will continue on with each future class as there has always been a aha moment Happy Bridging 2024 😇, student Caroline Tower

I'm pretty serious about getting better at bridge and have taken several lessons from various sources. Donna's lessons always impress me and stick with me. I've long been saying "I need to learn how to think" and this series is really helping to do just that. The hardest part for me will be to make myself do these thought processes each time so they become habit.

This is an excellent class on how to approach planning the defense of a hand, and thereby deciding whether to play passive or aggressive defense. The techniques were immediately useful, and I believe my partner and I will play better defense as a result.

Great information. It really rounds out my knowledge about what to do when my partner is the overcalled!! All the wonderful information that I have come to expect from Donna’s lessons.

As always, Donna gives a clear set of examples of the different types of overcalls and when to use them. I never knew there were so many. One of the most useful parts of this video is the explanation of the selection of hands played at the end.

This was my first Donna Compton video lesson. She is an excellent teacher. I was able to immediately use the material learned while playing in a Virtual Club game. It help me plan my play in a whole different way.

After attending a couple of Donna's retreats and purchasing numerous video's I have concluded that she is the best bridge teacher that I have ever had. For example, after several failed attempts to learn the endplay I had given up trying. That is until recently when I ordered the video and bundle from the Play Better Bridge website. I am ecstatic with the clarity of the lecture and the video that presented it in such a way that I was able to understand and play it well.

I have learned so much, and I am truly enjoying the game. I highly recommend!
