Customer service like you'd expect from Walmart--terrible! We called about kayak carts, planning to bring ours over to get the best fit (2 hours each way). The employee said they probably had several different models but refused to check, even after we told him how far we were coming. He actually thought it was reasonable for us to spend 4 hours driving for "probably".

We bought a kayak there and the service was great. I had a small knee pads blow out during transit to and from a paddle, and they replaced it for free. Very helpful and the place to go.

This company is amazing. I went to the demo day and left with a boat and a car rack! Everything was organized and seamless. The staff at Appomattox River Company goes above and beyond. They helped me choose the right boat, the right roof rack (since I needed a boat that was light enough to pick up, and a roof rack that was easy for me to put the boat on solo) and took the time to show me how to tie it on safely. They stayed past their opening hours to do all of this. I will most definitely be back and highly recommend them to everyone!

Had a great time at demo days. The factory reps were on hand to answer questions and plenty of kayaks, canoes and stand Ups on hand. Was somewhat surprised NuCanoe wasn't on hand but maybe that is a brand they don't carry. Everyone was so knowledgeable and very pleasant.

Appomattox River Company is a great place to buy a kayak. They have a huge selection. I just bought a 2017 Wilderness Systems Pungo 140 Galaxy. I really like some of their accessories like they're tie down straps. I have boat a few kayaks from them and had some customized in their shop. Great store!

I gave them money and they gave me my kayak of choice. A very painless transaction.

I'm excited to write this review! I purchased a Jackson Kayak from halfway across the country! The boat I wanted didn't make the color that I wanted this year, but they did last year. Turns out that I found the 2016 model in the lime green color from last year at Appomattox. I was skeptical about spending my money online, but I researched the company online, checked all the reviews, and then sent them a Facebook PM since their Facebook says they respond quickly. They DID! I asked that they send a picture and within the hour I had a picture of the lime green beauty! I got the boat at a discount because it was last years model, but it was brand new. Shipping was only $69 dollars too! I chose to pick up my boat at the shipping doc in my town, so that I wouldn't have to be home for delivery. The guys at the shipping doc wanted to know where I had gotten the boat and how much it was worth. Because they said it was the best wrapped / shipped boat they had seen! So all around great service! Ordered the boat on Wednesday, it was in town by the weekend, and picked it up Monday! Thanks guys! Can't wait to get out on the water with it!

I've bought 3 canoes (and own a 2nd hand canoe that was originally bought at ARC), and 2 kayaks from y'all through the years. The best price and service in the industry. I'll keep coming back as long as I'm paddling!

Great guys! Took a road trip from CT down to return a yak. Brian took the time to show me around the shop (which is awesome) and showed me what they had in stock. He was very passionate and stayed with me the whole time I was making my decisions. Everyone there was very friendly and made me feel at home. I will definitely be taking another trip down to see them! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING to see them!!
