Was the first one to buy a 2018 Wilderness System Tsunami 145. I did a lot on online research , I found a great price during the Labor Day weekend sale. It's a great boat , the inspection and customer service was great. Thanks Zach and Mary. I went to Bear Creek Lake for my maiden voyage , the Phase 3 tour seat is phenomenal. Adjustable on the fly. Great control even without a rudder. Good speed , I hit 4.7 mph with steady pace. Very rock solid kayak. If you're looking for a boat that bridges tour and rec , this is the one. Wilderness has a hit with this boat. At 56 lbs it's not too light and not too heavy. Easy to paddle in shallow water, goes places big boats can't. Chines are awesome leaning in this boat is effortless and you feel confident while paddling. I highly recommend this Tsunami 145.

Went in to help a friend put hands on all the different kayaks and ended up just stepping back and letting Brian, the sales rep, run the show and learned a lot myself about all the new gear and accessories available. Amazing selection and tons of knowledge in the sport.

Purchased a Wilderness Systems Radar 135 with Helix drive from the Hampton location. Everyone in the store was friendly and helpful and answered every question I had and a few I didn't know I had. Would recommend to anyone and everyone looking to get on the water.

Brian was super helpful setting up shipping and working with me. Boat was very well taken care of in shipment. We are pleased with the condition of the boat for the price, well priced. Very knowledgeable as well.

So, how to say this? We bought 2 Wilderness Systems ATAK 120’s, a Malone trailer and a bunch of accessories a couple of weeks ago from the Farmville location. Our rep was clear that it would take a week for the trailer to come in and then get assembled. We opted to pick up the yaks and the trailer at the same time and took the other items home. As we received no updates my wife called to make sure we were good to come back and pick everything up this weekend only to find out that the trailer is backordered. So now I’m scrambling to figure out how to get the yaks I’ve paid for 2weeks ago home, without the trailer I’ve also paid for. This is not the experience I was expecting when I chose Appomattox River Company. I’m optimistic that with their help we’ll come up with a solution that works for both of us. *****UPDATE***** The Malone trailer was finally delivered to ARC and the team there went above and beyond to get it all assembled and ready for us this morning! We rolled into town about 1/2 hour before they were officially open and they were waiting for us with both yaks loaded and ready. First though they sent us to the DMV down the road to get the title and tag- great tip! Much easier and faster than doing this where I live. I’ve updated my rating as everyone at Appomattox River Company took care of everything like the professionals they are.

We've been here one time before and had a pleasant experience. However, the last time we went it was a different story. My husband was debating between a canoe or kayak that he could use for himself. Our older sales rep was fantastic and we were very pleased with him. We had requested about 6 quotes on various vessels because the prices are not on the boats themselves and a new middle aged man approached the sale guy asking why he's having to find some many quotes. He was obviously irritated. My husband said "I'm looking at canoes and kayaks" and he gave another short reply and that's when my husband said we would look elsewhere. That guy was unprofessional and I doubt we'll go back.

I would love to review the purchase of my New Old Town 15ft, but they just took my money at the Ashland Shop, and never even placed the order to Farmville. It looked nice in the pictures.

I just wanted to let people know what a great experience I had with Appomattox River Company. I ordered kayaks from here on Feb 15th. We had them shipped to MA. The kayaks were delivered to our door on Monday Feb. 19. (Wow) They were so well wrapped it took us quit a bit of time to unwrap so we could inspect before we signed for them. Both kayaks were in perfect condition with the exception of a broken pad eye. I emailed them and got an overnight response letting me know they were shipping a couple out to me. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to deal with a Company that is that responsive. I would certainly, (even though I am so far away) purchase from them again if the opportunity arises. I would highly recommend them. Thank you again for the beautiful kayaks. Hope to send you some pictures as soon as the water up here gets a little less frozen!
