We have been reviewing kayaks for about 3 months and finally decided on Old Towne. We checked around places that were close to us and could not find anyone with the inventory that Appomattox has. When we arrived we were greeted by Matt and Bo, who were more than willing to help us decide which kayaks we wanted. After looking at the Sportsman PDL 120 and the Sportsman Salty PDL 120, we chose the Salty's. Bo and Matt had a lot of great advice and made sure we knew everything about the kayaks we where buying. Dealing with big box stores, we would have never recieved the hands on information like we did at Appomattox River company. They both helped us make sure the kayaks were secure before leaving, which, as new kayak owners, we were a bit worried about having them secure on top of our Jeep. We would highly reccomend the Appomattox River Company to anyone looking for kayaks!

I seen the Tarpon 105 kayak online in the summer of 2020 but could not find it or any kayak in any store. I finally found one in stock at Appomattox in the color I wanted. I debated for an hour about ordering a $850 kayak online, driving 4.5 hours to pick it up or trying to order one from a local store that could take 3 months or longer to come in. I took a chance and ordered online on a Saturday night. The store was closed Sunday and Monday so first thing Tuesday morning I called and they were very helpful with all my questions about shipping, paddles and other equipment and made me feel comfortable with my choice to order from them. Two hours later I received my shipping conformation and Friday afternoon I was opening my kayak that was well packaged and in prefect condition. The super fast delivery was probably due to the fact I am only 4.5 hours away so those of you further away my take longer but they were fast to get it out the door. My only complaint is the 30 degree air temperature in the Northeast today so it will be a few months before I can take it out but hey if they could control the weather I'm sure they would. I added them to my favorites on my computer and will deal with them again.

We ordered 2 Hobie eclipse and had them shipped to Texas. The folks at PaddleVA kept up us in the loop when order processed and shipped. Both boards made it Texas without a scratch.

I live in Northern Virginia and bought my 1st kayak from Appomattox River Company last summer. I got a great deal on a Bonafide SS 107 and the customer service was great. They have a knowledgable staff who can find the perfect kayak for your individual needs. No need to shop any place else!

We live in Pennsylvania and were looking for a 3 Waters Big Fish Kayak dealer near us. Unfortunately, there aren't any near by that we felt comfortable purchasing 2 Kayaks from. I began looking online for the best price and shipping rates and came across this Company. I began to read reviews and did a BBB search on the company before I decided to move forward. I was pleased with my findings and purchased 2 Big Fish 105 Kayaks from them. Not only was the purchasing process very easy, the communication from Appomattox has been nothing short of STELLAR! We received specific instructions from the Appomattox regarding inspection of our packages at delivery. We followed them completely and found that one of the Kayaks had been damaged while the other was fine. We refused one Kayak and kept the other. I emailed the Company and received a response within 24 hours of my original email. Travis, had kept me completely informed during the return and replacement process. About a week or so later we received our replacement and all was great! I highly recommend using this company for ALL your Kayak adventure needs! The Hampton's-Appomattox River Company is loaded with various kayaks, friendly & educated staff. Most are experienced kayak anglers who will be happy to offer personal advise. Love this store!!!

(2016) Went in trying to decide between 2 different brands. They pulled them out and let me get a good close look at them before I made a big purchase of 2 kayaks. When I decided to get the wilderness systems ride 115 for my wife and myself, they had every color option available. The one color I wanted didn’t have the air pro max seat in it and they quickly made that change happen to make me the customer happy. I have and will continue to shop with them.
