I've used this brand and style for close to a decade. I went looking to replace the ones I have when I could no longer keep them clean. That takes a looooonnnng time. 8+ years in on the current ones, and I'm only throwing them away because of stains I can't get out. They are still very useful and function as advertised. My metal sink does not have a single scratch in it. I've never broken a glass or plate by dropping it in the sink. I'm buying spares so that I can throw away ones that are too stained sooner. (Occasionally soaking them in bleach water does wonders for keeping stains off. )
