Kickass steel toe

I have wide feet and a very high instep. Boots that are cut snug or with no give in the inset are not possible for me. So after reading all the reviews, I was worried and went a half size up. Turns out, I didn't need to size up like that. Normally, I wear a 10. 5-11. I got an 11. 5 and it fits a little loose, but still fine. The leather is stiff but it was fine to walk around all day without breaking in because it was a little loose. A lot more flexibility that way. shoe looks great, and I'm definitely buying another pair later, but in my usual size.

These are beautiful, high-quality boots and you can tell right away they’re made to last. The leather is extremely stiff out of the box, so breaking them in is definitely required—but that’s expected with boots like this and honestly speaks to their durability. Sizing, however, is tricky. For reference, I usually wear a US women’s size 6. I initially ordered a UK 4 and absolutely loved them when they arrived, but they were much larger than expected and I had to send them back. I exchanged for a UK 3. 5, which fits better but is still slightly roomy. I plan to compensate with thicker socks, but if I were to buy them again, I’d probably try a UK 3—even though my Doc Martens are a UK 4. So definitely don’t assume your usual boot size will translate perfectly here. I wore them for a night out last weekend and ended up with some pretty gnarly blisters, but I’m confident that will improve as the leather softens and the boots break in. That said, Solovair’s customer service was excellent. Shipping was fast, the return process was smooth, and everyone I interacted with was friendly and accommodating. Bottom line: gorgeous, well-made boots, but be prepared for a break-in period and pay close attention to sizing.
