Love these shoes, but one came kind of damaged. Don’t want to have to to deal with shipping back to England. So I’m just keeping them.

They arrived a day early via UPS. Easy to track. The box was slightly crumpled in one corner but the boots were were in great shape. The box is sturdy, I use it to hold my brushes, polish, dubbin, etc.

These shoes run on the narrow side. Or, possibly, the first pair I bought were just themselves mis-sized. But comparing them to Doc Martens, they seem to run narrower and slightly smaller for any given size. As such, I had trouble getting into the right size! However, the Solovair return and exchange process was FLAWLESS. I expected it to be slow or difficult. Nope. Super fast and easy. I normally wear a US Men's 9. Which is super close (identical to? not sure) to a UK Men's 8. Doc Marten US Mens 9's -- fit me perfectly. Adidas US Men's 9 -- fit me perfectly. etc etc But the Solovair US Men 9 pair I first got last year was tight. Very tight, in both length and width. They really seem like a US Men's 8 1/2 not a 9. Instead of exchanging them I stupidly tried to stick with them and stretch them out with a shoe tree and through wear, but that never quite worked out. So I tried again this year. I figured, go a little bigger. I went with US Men's 10. They were much too big! So I sent them back and now have US Men's 9 1/2 -- and they do fit correctly, although they may be slightly too big! Which is why I think my first pair may have just been mis-sized. All that said, once I finally landed on a size (third pair!), I find them really great. Cool look and style, comfortable, break in quickly.

Shipped with boots, which arrived within days to the US. Easy to apply. Used a shoe polish brush to apply wax. Let wax sit on leather overnight. Wax 100% absorbed by morning. Perfect for water resistance.
