Before going on vacation, I ordered a part so it would be waiting for me when I returned. While I was away, I found out that the company had cancelled my order and refunded my money because they wanted to verify my VIN to make sure I was ordering the correct part. I had already confirmed with the dealership that the part number was correct for my vehicle and VIN. Additionally, when placing the order, the website gives you the option to provide your VIN to verify fitment, but it is not listed as a requirement. If providing the VIN is actually required before an order can be processed, that should be clearly stated during checkout. Customers should not be able to complete an order without providing the VIN and then have the order cancelled afterward for not providing it. I understand that verifying fitment can be helpful, but if the VIN is presented as optional, the customer should be allowed to make that decision themselves. This was especially frustrating because I had already verified the part number with the dealership before ordering. Now I have to wait for the part another week and I can't use my car.

Picked up part in person, but had to drive to drive 16 miles to a dealership which operates under the same name as the one local to me, and they had to ship the part to the location anyway.
