I regret that this time I had a very bad experience with Mylands. I ordered Chalk matt emulsion (one of the Beata Heuman range which is very good). The paint arrived marked correctly with the colour and code. My decorator worked away all morning - I popped in to see how he was getting on and was appalled to see the walls covered in bright white paint, completely wrong. I had to phone, have an unsatisfactory conversation with the customer service person who was not very apologetic and did not seem to understand the seriousness of the error made and consequent inconvenience and extra cost. I had to drive to the Mylands factory (1 hour) to take back the wrong paint can, explain all over again, and exchange it for the correct colour. Then 1 hour’s drive back home. My decorator had to go home early as no paint to use, and I will have to pay him an extra half day. The person at the Mylands desk was very apologetic and helpful, but very little he could do apart from not charge me for the correct paint. Difficult to know how this elementary mistake could have happened and it makes me question their staff training and supervision. The paint mixer had not added the tints to the bright white base and it was not picked up by anyone. I am a fan of Mylands and have often used their paint in the past. Now I am thinking again.

I've been buying Myland's products for over 30 years and, as usual, the product and service were both excellent.
Good, prompt delivery. Not much colour advice or chance to judge how colour looks ini rooms on the website, I got two tester pots, delivered next-day which was helpful.
I’ve only bought testers and colour cards so far but I’m really impressed with the depth of colour and how even the application is, with just one coat. Customer service is friendly and responsive too. I’m impressed so far.

I used Mylands paint twice, and I’m really happy. Very easy and nice to apply on wood. A few years later, my doors are like new, the black color is still the same, it did’nt fade away and no chips.

I'v used Bolloms Nitrostain Brown Oak as a basic stain for 40+ years in my restoration business, but they're now defunct, so. . . I rang you to ascertain which of your 'Oak' Nitrostains, or others, would be the best match. Despite a promise, I was not rung back: Nieither did anyone reply to the 3 E-mails I then sent you. Lastly, I went to my local 'Brewers' outlet to see if they could help. Funnily enough they didn't seem at all surprised by your lack of communication, and described you as "unhelpful', at least at that branch. Given the number of restoration products and businesses that have disappeared from the market place, it really is not at all helpful when one of the remaining is so apparently dismissive of their actual and potential customer base. I would have given you no stars, but my order arrived promptly, and WITH a receipt, which is rare now days, so I gave you 2 stars for that. I have to say I was also somewhat surprised at your prices, but. . . . Cheers. John

Love Mylands usually but on this occasion I had an item missing (undercoat) from my order so a little bit annoying. Thankfully my painter wasn’t turning up this week so it wasn’t going to affect the work but even so it’s slightly irritating. Phone lines incredibly busy so took a while to get through (10 mins) - I didn’t want to fill out an online form for a missing item for obvious reasons but top marks for the chap who answered and sorted. As I say I do love Mylands but whoever packages their orders needs a word :/
