Once again, tech-support sucks. All the agents I’ve spoke to don’t speak very good English, they don’t have patience, and the connection to them sucks. The AI automation actually sounds clear. It’s the agents connection that is terrible. The last agent I spoke to told me to hang up and call back. I’m also not too happy with the fact that I have to put in the super big and complicated password for a device that I only am gonna use.

Shipped quickly. Easy to install and program to NVR.

Shipping was fast. Cameras were exactly as described. Only reason for 4/5 is I wish the length of cat5 cable was longer or bare minimum you could select longer/shorter options of cable with the entire system. 100ft is the 75% solution, granted most houses and properties require closer to 250ft depending on your security plan.

I had a horrible experience with Lorex. Before purchasing, I spent a lot of time on the phone with customer service asking detailed questions to make sure the system would work for my home. Unfortunately, several important setup requirements were never disclosed. I wasn't told that the recorder requires a monitor or TV for the initial setup. I was planning to only use my phone app to see the camera footage. I had to borrow a computer monitor just to get started. I also wasn't told that the recorder requires a wired ethernet connection. My home network is fully wireless, so I had to purchase a Wi-Fi extender with an ethernet port just to connect the recorder. The installation instructions were also incomplete. They never explained that all of the cameras should be paired near the recorder before being permanently installed. Based on the instructions, I reasonably assumed they should be installed in their final locations first. I paid a handyman to mount three outdoor cameras and a doorbell camera, only to discover they needed to be taken back down for troubleshooting. I spent approximately 20 hours trying to get this system working, with help from three other people over a period of several weeks. I even asked Lorex if they could provide professional installation or recommend a local technician familiar with their products, but I was told neither was available. Every device had different problems. One camera never progressed beyond a red status light despite following customer service's instructions exactly. Another camera worked briefly before repeatedly disconnecting and eventually stopped accepting the recorder password. The doorbell camera wouldn't enter pairing mode, then wouldn't accept passwords, then repeatedly displayed "Failed to add device" and "Failed to bind" even though it was only about six feet from both the recorder and the Wi-Fi router. Will not purchase WiFi products only hardwired. The WiFi product was frustrating and support was not able to help. I utilized a different brand that connected in 10 minutes to WiFi.

Quick and easy service. I like the iPhone app better than the other camera systems I have used. Linking and pairing cameras to the DVR is easy. The app opens quickly and you can get a screenshot sent via texts for free when you get alerts which help a lot.
