I was a little concerned buying these boots online as I have always had an issue with fit and sending shoes back when they did not fit, and they are not exactly cheap. However, I was persuaded by Jadd's returns policy, several reviews,  and purchased them anyway. The boots are very well made with enough leather on each side of the stitching to ensure a strong bond. The sole is well seated and clearly, they can be resoled; something that is quite rare today. The eyelets ensure that shoe laces will not pull through the leather and are located in the correct position to hold the boot to the foot correctly. Clearly, these boots require breaking in and therefore, there is a small amount of heel slip that will cause some rubbing initially; that I think, is normal for all good shoes/boots. I tend to take a wider fitting; size  9. 5 G, (based on other manufacturer's sizing), and these boots fit perfectly. Stitching on the leather has been properly reinforced in all weak areas of the boot. On the whole, I can honestly say these boots are on par with the best made "vellies" I've seen, which came from Duiwelskloof. , SA

I had looked on quite a few websites selling desert boots before I came across Jadd Shoes. The no-nonsense website was intriguing to be honest and with Jadd’s workshop being only 50 mins from my location, it left me longing to visit and find out more. We visited one afternoon and spent approx 1. 5hrs talking to Jadd about the quality of shoes, construction methods and shoes and boots in general. Great chatting Jadd, many thanks. The Desert Boots I tried on were examples straight off the shelf and were really comfy. I could have worn them all day, and sort of forgot I had them on whilst chatting. I showed Jadd that my feet were slightly bulging out the suede at the ball of the foot and he offered to make me a customised pair. He traced round both my feet and measured their circumference at different locations. Jadd then found the closest fitting last. He showed me where he would add extra material to the last to make my boots. Brill - this exceeded my expectations. We then talked leathers, soles, stitching and my request for no toe puff. There was no extra cost for the bespoke service. In less than a week the bespoke desert boots in Sand and natural crepe sole arrived. They are top notch. They are beautiful in their own way and the fit is as you’d expect after your feet have been measured. The suede is really thick and soft and the boots feel like slippers. I am impressed by the neat stitching and how simple but excellent the design is. I’m glad I went with no toe puff. I love the reverse suede and the luxurious grain on the inside. The heel grip is the icing on the cake which makes the boot work really well. I have only worn them around the house so far because the weather outside is typical for November in England. I’m now thinking about my next pair - desert shoes in a light Brown I think. I can thoroughly recommend Jadd shoes and Jadd’s Desert Boots

I bought them in 2021, and they are now entering their fourth season. The shoes have held up incredibly well. Absolutely top-notch quality and craftsmanship. The leather and all other materials are of excellent quality.

I’ve been looking for a pair of desert boots for a while. A bit of research & Jadd really stood out above the other brands. The option & choice of soles & the sourcing of the best quality of the leather along with the made to order traditional British manufacturing techniques. Bespoke! I enquired about a Desert Boot with a Lactae Hevea sole with Tobacco Suede on a Saturday evening. Half an hour later I received a reply confirming they could be made. I ordered them straight away. So, they arrived earlier than the three weeks quoted. These boots are beautiful. The craftsmanship is superb. They fit & feel amazing. The leather/suede is stunning. The Tobacco Suede & Lactae Havea sole was definitely the right choice (for me). You’ll have no regrets treating yourself to a pair or two.

This is the 3rd pair of Boots I have purchased from Jadd. These boots are so comfortable to wear and look great with a pair of chinos or jeans. Service from Jadd was excellent, as it was before, and I believe I got excellent value for money.

First off I know this isn’t a particularly long-term review but I do walk 4+ miles a day (a bit less on weekends) so in the last week I’ve already gotten about 25 miles on these. In a word? Outstanding. Just insanely comfortable and solid. The materials and construction had a real wow factor out of the box. That Stead waxy suede is indescribably smooth to the touch and the lining leather was just as beautiful. Jadd patiently worked with me on ordering to ensure the fitting was perfect, so when I first slipped them on it felt like I’d already worn them for a few days and the fit just keeps getting better each day. They’re also somehow lighter and quieter than my old DM desert boots despite the extremely thick material and solid feeling sole. To top it off Jadd’s customer service is off the charts, there was a small issue on receipt with the upper stitching colour and he went above and beyond to get me sorted out the same day. I’ve always said that all customer service looks good when everything goes right but the real test of integrity comes when something goes wrong and Jadd passed with flying colours. All in all I could not be happier with every part of the experience and the end product and will definitely be buying some more Jadd boots in the future (eyeing up some classic deserts for the summer already, hah)

At last — a product that surpasses my expectations. Superbly made and obviously made to last, these boots are what I have been looking for for years. Many thanks, Jadd!

These boots are superb. The materials are excellent, the suede is thick yet supple. They are built beautifully, and were comfortable straight away. They are a clear step up in Quality from the much more famous original Clarks desert boots. Well worth the extra money.

Having sent Jadd my foot measurements, he was able to advise me on the correct shoe size. The boots are great and actually look better than they appear on-screen. They are beautifully made; the design is classic, understated but flattering. The leather, both inside and out exudes quality, and they fit perfectly and are very comfortable to wear. What more can I say? My go-to shoes from now on. I will certainly purchase from JADD again,

I've had a pair of these boots in black Chromexcel with black Vibram soles for about a year now. I find shape of the last to be natural and comfortable in the midfoot and toes, but with a fairly elegant sculpted fit in the arch and especially the heel. The UK size 8 fits my US 9D feet about as well as any boot I've worn. The thick leather footbed is very comfortable all day long even in the lighter weight socks that I prefer. The uppers are supple and just what you'd expect from black Horween pull-up leather, just getting better with each wear. If you want a good-looking pair of bombproof yet refined combat style boots that will outlive multiple sets of soles, I highly recommend these!

Comfortable right out of the box! Yup, that's right. The Elk leather is so soft and flexible there is zero break-in required. I found the LH soles flexible and springy compared to my previous Crepe sole. On hard floors the LH is silent... definitely +1 Stealth! When sizing these shoes for me, Jadd asked about the fit of my existing pair. I am fortunate enough to have two (worn out) pairs of the Carreducker Barkan-style Desert Boots which are also made by Jadd to Carreducker's specification. They used a GX last which is wide with a large toe box. I put that old pair on and sat in front of a video camera and talked about the fit under the laces, across the vamp, the space in the toes and the types of socks I wore throughout the year. This allowed Jadd to make a recommendation for a custom last and his analysis was spot on.

I thought it more useful to do a review after some use. I was surprised how comfortable they were on day one and 7 months in I have worn the boots almost every day and completed 100s of miles in them. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned and they look like they did when they came out of the box. Spectacularly durable and I certainly have not been treating them with kid gloves. Occasionally I'll scuff them but scuffs just rub out using your finger in a few seconds. They're smart enough for work and casual enough for the pub on the weekends, hence my use almost every day. Ordering was great - if you're not sure exactly what you need, drop them a line. I ended up with a custom sized pair which fit my odd feet like a glove. Thank you Jadd.

I go to Jadd for all my smart/casual boots these days. He is really driven about keeping the quality high and the price low. They are comfortable, incredibly durable, fully repairable and there are loads of options for colours and customisation. He can make them on any last in his collection so if you have odd sized feet or need any corrections, then Jadd can probably help. If you care about your feet and your wallet then these are the best shoes to buy.

Grew up in Africa wearing desert boots every day. Extremely happy with my first pair of Jadd desert boots which arrived a few days ago. Just like the originals, but so much better quality, and UK made. Service and delivery excellent.

Amazing shoes, exceptional quality materials and craftsmanship and very comfortable straight out of the box for me. I was also able to get some adjustments to the fit made for a slightly wider foot at a very reasonable additional cost. Would recommend to anyone as I am very impressed with these shoe!!
