Jadd's work is phenomenal. His skills and knowledge show in every pair of the boots he makes. It would be hard to find another maker of dessert boots who works to this level. It would also be difficult to find a professional craftsman who would listen to his customers and be prepared to make changes to any of his boots to ensure they fit the customer. It is possible to ring or email Jadd to discuss any alterations to the standard design that you might be considering. This is my sixth pair of Jadd's boots and I am completely happy with all of them. This pair took no breaking in and are particularly welcome when the weather in the UK is as hot as it has been, in the UK, while writing this review. If you are looking for top quality, handmade desert boots, you can do no better than look at Jadd's range. And don't forget to contact him if you are considering changes to what you see on this site. A cracking pair of classic chukka boots. The leather has a lot of character to it, which is hard to see in photos. Soles are harder than most chukkas, giving a small breaking-in period. I would highly recommend for a daily summer or casual smart dress style boot.

Great quality and very comfortable

I was looking for a summer boot, and these just arrived. They smell amazing, they look good and they fit perfectly.

I finally got to try on the shoes yesterday (26/5/25). They are a perfect fit, straight out of the box. They are also beautifully made and finished in calf leather. A great testament to British quality craftsmanship.

My second pair of Jadd boots. Different suede colour and paid a little extra again for the Lactae Hevea sole. Stylish, extremely comfortable yet hard wearing, Great for spring,summer and travel. Also like the fact these are Brotish made by a firm that prides itself on quality and providing a first class customer service. Very responsive, helpful and accommodating. E. g worth asking if you would like an upper/sole combination not advertised. The chances are they'll meet your needs or provide very useful consultation. A super pair of boots. The usual Jadd high quality workmanship and, in this case, the leather is something special. I have a pair of the Wild Kudu hi-tops (which are superb) and this leather is similar in softness and feel but the finish is very different from anything I seen; somewhere between oiled leather and suede. Supple and comfortable from day one. Light and easy for walking on warm days. Very pleased.

These shoes are fantastic! The suede is of outstanding quality, far superior to other suedes at this price point. I opted for a made-to-order (MTO) pair with an unconstructed toe, and Jadd provided excellent support throughout the process. He was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly helpful in guiding me through the customization options. I've been wearing these boots with a Vibram sole throughout the entire Scandinavian winter, and they’ve performed exceptionally well. Paired with wool socks on colder days, they kept my feet warm and comfortable even in harsher conditions. I’ve already recommended these boots to several friends, and I strongly encourage anyone in search of a quality pair of desert boots to give them a try.

I’m absolutely delighted with these boots. I wanted to buy British and I can honestly say these boots are more beautifully finished and sturdier than a pair of Clarks desert boots.

Boots arrived today. Went for a Tobacco Reverse Suede Desert Boot Ordering- simple and selection including size was confirmed, which I like. Came up immediately in “ Shop” Payment was easy with Pay Pal Boots- pleased with the quality. Leather is buttery soft, and indeed 2 mm plus thick. I am a bit of a shoe snob, when it comes to construction, and these press the right buttons for me. Reverse suede is so so much more robust than most splits and combined with good stitch down construction, should last years. Very comfortable and it feels as if there is a shank in the sole, which is not present in the desert boots produced by the company known for these boots.
