I had previously used Shure in-ears (which are good for beginning). But, being on stage multiple times a week has a need for a wider range of sound. Getting these IEMs was a dream. They are as good as advertised. The 4-driver set provides a wide range of highs and lows. I love them!

Great sounding earbuds. I got the UE11 for the added bass as most earbuds lack the low end. The ability to use the app to customize the equalizer when using BT is a plus. The custom fit allows me to listen for extended periods without ear discomfort. Very pleased with my purchase.

The whole process was very easy. The self mold kit walks you right through the process of making a mold and the final product fits perfect. The sound is amazing. I would recommend these to anyone that is looking for custom fit headphones

I found it very difficult to connect with the correct support people at Ultimate Ears once I took delivery of the buds. The FitKit support was outstanding, and support from sales folks tried to pass my questions along to UE CSX tech support, but I never heard back from tech support. The Bluetooth control is placed too close to my right ear and it would be great if it could be moved away from the bud an inch or so, or even better, give me control over its placement, and the option to have it on the left side instead of the right, as I am left-handed. Still getting used to the buds, but the sound is outstanding. Not yet comfortable with the fit of the right ear bud. Sometimes don't get the seal I would like. Not yet convinced that the UE ear buds are worth the very high price, even with a $400.00 discount.

I have a long work commute to work, and back, and I love spending the time listening to soft jazz, which is way better than the outside noise of my bus ride, and now the trilling non-stop MTA automated connections announcements, which literally drives you insane after a few times. But for years now, I have been struggling to find a pair of earbuds that would fit me comfortably and had a decent sound quality, as I believed earbuds could never deliver the same quality of sound (particularly on the bass range) as over the ear studio headphones, until now. I have literally spent well over what I paid my UE 18+ on different earbuds, with no luck. They never fit properly, there was sound leakage from the outside environment and I had to literally jam them in my ears to get a decent seal and sound (and sometimes not even that worked), which in the end caused pain after a while. I must say I was a bit sceptic having seen the UE costs, but I got to the point of having nothing else to lose but money, so why not? I was very impressed with the customer support and the technical knowledge the UE engineers and support staff demonstrated during the fitting phase. They immediately identified, just by looking at the pictures of my ears, that I was falling outside the 95% standard and I required to consult an audiologist to have the mould form taken. That was the first surprise and realization of why I had so many problems. The second came after the audiologist showed me how bigger was my right inner ear compared to my left is. That explained why the sound was never even amongst right and left channel with a loss of bass and striking pain on the left side (because the plug was too big) and/or leakage of outside noise on the right side, with sometimes the earplug falling off my ear while walking because it was obviously too small. And I had been wondering how the UE could achieve a perfect seal and sound insulation not having a rubber tip. Until I got them, and then I found out that a...

I previously had the Bragi Dash for a year, but one cracked after the 1 year warranty expired. The Bragi Dash were fairly comfortable, but didn't always stay in the very best and didn't do a great job of blocking out noise, particularly on an airplane. Then I got the (old) Apple AirPods. Those are just ok if there is not a lot of outside noise and they really suck on an airplane because you have to turn the volume to the max just to attempt to drown out the engine noise. Also I found the Apple Airpods to be fairly uncomfortable, they just never fit quit right. I mainly use the Bose QC 15 that I have had for 10 years for when I travel and they work great, but they are in no way compact so I have to clip them on the outside of my briefcase and I fly around 100k miles for business. These UE 7 CSX fit really well and they are comfortable, although, admittedly I have only had them on for 30 minutes max. They do a fantastic job of blocking just about all outside noise with the volume up only about 1/10th of the way! I can not wait until my next business trip in January to see how these fair on an airplane. I have high expectations and expect these will meet those when I fly. By the way an unexpected benefit of these, you can have them connected to 2 blue tooth devices at the same time (such as phone and tablet device)! The at home fitting process was very straight forward. Although my one piece of constructive criticism is the wires of the fit kit kept falling off from the fit kit ear buds and it was somewhat difficult to keep both in and work the install app on my phone at the same time (I kind of needed 3 hands, one to work my phone and one hand each to hold the wires to the fitting buds). I suspect the fitting wires had been used quite a few times and had gotten worn out a bit, no big deal, probably helpful to have a friend help out when you are doing the fit kit at home.

I came across Ultimate Ears on YouTube and decided to give them a try. I'm not a musician, just wanted to try a different in ear monitor. I reccomend giving them a try. The fit is perfect and the sound quality is great!

For many years I bought and tried high end earphones. After going through many brands and products I did research on something new. Traveling every week and having a pair of headphones is essential. Lived with the over the ears Bose for more years than I can count and sore ears...not anymore! Should have switched years ago.

The fit and sound are first rate. Pristine clarity and good sound isolation. But what is really impressive are the little details and features. Being able to switch cables to hard-wired when the battery runs down, or for in-studio use, or even when flying on a plane is a great feature that none of the competitors seem to have. Another great one is having the charging attachment double as a supplementary battery, so you can charge it while using the headphones, and then bring it with you, doubling the life of the headphones. It would be great if the case worked as a charger, and was slightly smaller and more portable, but these are tiny quibbles. A great set of headphones overall, that eliminate the need for any others.

When I first placed these sonic jewels in my ears I was blown away. Imagine sound in your brain. That is my listening experience with these UE 18’s. I also have and love a Sennheiser HD 800 cans. No conflict here. They are two significantly different experiences. Merry Christmas to me.

The absolute best earphones you’ll find anywhere. They fit perfectly. Sound is nice and clear and cancels out all other ambient noise while listening to music. Don’t buy from anybody else.
