We had a cheap, small dehumidifier from a different brand, mainly for the laundry and for use in a single room. It wasn't good enough to deal with condensation on windows in the whole house and the front door panels. We live in a three bedroom bungalow in Ireland. I went online and had a look around and noticed that the meaco dehumidifiers were recommended a lot. They were a bit more expensive than some other brands, but my wife and I decided to go for the MeacoDry Arete One 20 L. It has been on constantly for a few weeks now and it has been a game changer. First of all it is very quiet. Because it lives in the hall, we can let it run at night and don't even need the night setting. The house is nice and dry. There is no more condensation on the windows, the glass panels beside the front door are bone dry, and it dries the laundry quite fast as well. (We don't put it near the laundry. We just leave it where it is. ) The first week it was working full on and we had to empty the container a few times a day. Now it is at 55 percent and we only have to empty it an extra time a day when we have laundry drying. Of course I can't comment on durability as we only started using it a few weeks ago. So far: great product. Highly recommended.
