JNS is an excellent store. I’ve made many purchases here and am always thrilled with the products. The prices can be high, but Maksim goes out of his way to stock unique, high performing knives that you can’t find anywhere else. Highly recommended!

Bought from somewhere else first, was not as described. Then bought from JNS and exactly as described and arrived quicker than expected. Very pleased with this purchase.

I only recently purchased it and it looks great by now. It comes very very sharp and the cutting feels very satisfying. We will see how that edge holds up.

Ordered some Stones and a knife Here, one of the Stones had a corner broken Off at arrival. i promptly got another one as a replacement

I am very happy that I chose Japanese Natural Stones to order from. The stone I was sent is a phenomenal cutter and the Tomo Nagura he sent me was Huge!!! I do have a few issues with my order as I would have liked to add a Botan, Meijiro, and tenyjou as well. Unfortunately for what ever reason communication has been limited between us. Due to lack of communication I also took a gamble at the stone I ordered. I wasn't sure if this stone was fit for me and could have used Maksims assistance in the order. Because I was in a rush I need to place my order asap. The order was shipped incredibly fast and delivery was very fast as well. I ordered on a Thursday and by Monday it arrived from Denmark to Canada! With all of my online orders I was vey impressed with this service. Especially since it was FREE. Another issue with my order is the stone had a beige color in the online photos when the description said asagi Color I had assumed the swirls in the stone had a green like color. Instead the entire stone is green. By no means necessary does this mean I am unhappy, this stone in my opinion is an excellent performer and I'm sure I have a long learning process with it as well as I have just started. If communication improves I would definitely be a repeat customer, I think these guys have a great establishment

The Iwasaki kamisori is the second product I purchased from JNS, the first being a nagura stone. Both products are superb and reasonably priced. The service and delivery was prompt and efficient. I have no hesitation recommending to do business with these folks.

I usually only write reviews when things goes wrong, but in that case, I need to vocalize my satisfaction with Maksim service! Not only he has the will to share his passion and knowledge, but the service is top notch: ordered on saturday, delivered in UAE 2 days after !! Moreover, his strict respect of VAT billing as well as the free delivery (when above certain amount), mkes this wonderfull eShop a very competitive one !! I just received my Shuobudani Mikawa nagura set and tomo naguras. Wow, passion is evident. Great stones, but I was particularly impressed that Maksim chose such pretty and varied tomo nagura for me to learn with. Happy customer!

It is so obvious that Maksim puts his heart in this business. From selection of makers (often young but very skilled blacksmiths who need the support to stay in business) whom he knows personally to selection of knife designs. Not to forget are the JNS stones - if you are passionate about natural stones - this is THE place. I can personally recommend the synthetic stones - some of the best out there. All of this comes with great customer service and support.

I never thought i'd spend that kind of money in only one month at one online shop dedicated to japanese stones and knives. I placed multiple orders for knives, stones, scissors, mortars, a wooden magnet bar, nail clippers and much more. All were fulfilled really fast, the packaging was amazing and the products were really of highest quality. I had quite some questions, all of which Maxim answered promptly. Sometimes i even found nice 'extras' in my package. And i'm talking really things i needed like the handmade wooden strop block with horse leather. My last buy was the Kato Higonokami folder, for which Maksim build me a nice sheath made of kangaroo lather. Thank you very much Maxim! May i ask you for one thing though? Please go on a bit slower on adding products to your shop or i'll be ruined financially fast ;)

This is the place to look for the JNats and real knives! It looks sometimes too expensive ( was my first and second opinion), but then, when you look through the blogs and compare with some other stuff, you start to realize, that Maksim is doing great job , and that all around there are a lot of fakes etc. here , at JNS, all is clear and transparent: look at the stuff, ask the question, go to Kitchen Forum, read it, ask it etc. i've got today my first JNS stones, i started with Maksim with some rather economical solution ( i wanted to check the reactivity and the quality)- meanwhile i am totally sure and convinced - he is great, JNS service is outstanding (2,5 days for delivery to my home in Moscow!!), the stones are exactly the same as shown, their features are exactly the same as described- so HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, folks!! I will come definitely come back!

I think that this site is the best place to get natural stones. Maksim is so helpful and knowledgeable, amazing customer service. I have order here several times and never disappointed, always received my order in record time, especially since it is coming from over seas. I will be ordering again and again here
