Great sevice

Love this little train set, looks great under the Christmas tree. It has a realistic train sound which can be turned off, a nice little light shining brightly on the front of the train too. I love that it can be recharged via a USB cable, so no need for expensive batteries. The track was easy to click together and the train carriages attach simply with magnets. Delivery was fast and, using a discount code which Hornby sent me, this quality train set was a real bargain.

Excellent service packaging and delivery

Setting up was fairly easy as its my son's first Hornby set ever we didn't have any trouble. There are some minor issues with the set you should know about before you buy it: the speed control panel stops working after you change the track, there is a electric "pop" and then the train stops and does not react and the light on the speed control panel is gone. To resolve this, you need to either buy more tracks to have a closed circuit or unplug the device from the socket and wait a minute or two then try again and as long as you do not switch tracks, it works fine. Another annoying issue is the train derailing even at medium speeds sometimes. I have an impression that Hornby in the past was better quality. Overall, we are happy with the set despite the issues it has but maybe once we get more tracks this will go away.
