The Talon X1 Midnight is hands down the best paddle I've owned. The feel off the face is crisp without being harsh, and the pop on drives is a noticeable step up from my previous paddle. Played with the Eclipse, indoors, for 3 hours straight on the weekend. I play with heavy spin. Received all sorts of 'complaints' from my opponents, especially on the serve and return of serve; just the way I like it. It's a great paddle, it went beyond my expectations. It is not likely that I will have to make any modifications on it (aside from adding an over-grip and additional tape to protect the edge guard). My only concern would be playing outside with it, worried about pollen gumming up the surface, we have a lot of tree pollen flying around on our courts. Not sure if simply brushing it with a soft brush would remove the pollen.

I love the deep sound follow by the whistling swoosh of the ball when connecting with this paddle. I can generate plenty of power on my own, this paddle allows me to control and place the ball more easily.
