My son loves his specs. Have ordered 2 pairs (because he lost his 1st pair) work well. 1st pair i didnt upgrade the lenses so they did fog a lot. This round i upgrades the lenses. . . not sure if it will be worth it yet. My biggest issue is the poor updates on shipping and zero answers are provided back from emails or chats.
Wrong frames wrong return packaging. Ghosted by customer service. Bad
Most of the reviews are from last year. I ordered on 2/11/2026 and have yet to receive the glasses. I’m very disappointed! And I do not recommend!
I ordered a pair of glasses on January 15, 2026. On the website it says expect 5 to 7 business days. I called 14 business days afterwards and was told my order was in process and it would be finished soon. Call back a week later was told it did not meet the QC checks by the lab so they had to redo the glasses. OK no worries. Well here I am writing this review on February 25th 2026 and after paying for overnight shipping, the glasses are still not here. I was told on 24 February that they were shipping and now after calling customer service again today was told that they will ship within the next few days. All a customer service is done is refunded me the $30 I paid for overnight shipping. If I knew it was gonna be this big of a hassle. I would’ve easily paid double and went with another company. The customer service is garbage. Here I am spending over $200 on a pair of goggles for my son for Hockey and the seasons over. Go with somebody else do not order from optics outfitters.
Terrible communication and customer service. I feel like this may be a scam, as I cannot get any sort of update--by phone or text message--on an order that was placed more than a month ago. I cannot get anyone to answer the phone on their 888 phone number, and they only occasionally respond via text message with vague messages such as " we will send you an update tomorrow", or "the glasses are still in our shop". I regret ever ordering from this company.
I’m very very disappointed with this company. I’m questioning if Optics Outfitters is even a legitimate company. I have not received any updates on my order, I’ve sent emails and texts and no response. It’s been 15 days since I placed my order. The FAQ’s reports that order process time is 10-12 days. I guess I’m out $150. Nothing for nothing.
I ordered my glasses in December and here we are 60 days later and no glasses. I have called on multiple occasions and keep getting the run around regarding them and production. I paid over $250 and never received my glasses.
I placed an order on January 23rd and was told they would take 10 business days to ship. I called on the 10th day to be told, "oh no, we take up to 12 business days, we are putting the final coating on the lenses and will ship". Today is 14 business days later and they have not shipped and when called I was told another 2-3 business days as "they are putting the final coating on the lenses". Terrible service. I will never purchase from them again, will not recommend and will deter anyone I know from ordering. Do not put a time frame on order processing if you cannot fulfill. It's so frustrating. As a first time customer I am beyond impressed by the level of customer service I received. Super helpful and knowledgeable, I am a customer for life!
Ordered almost a month in advance heard nothing from them. I reached out multiple times, nothing. Finally four weeks after I placed the order I reached someone via phone. Told them to cancel I bought local. I was told it is being fulfilled now. I said it's to late Christmas has passed and bought a different pair. I cancelled the order with 4 different people, yet they still shipped. I told my credit card to do a charge back. They say they can't do a return unless I lift charge back. Finally yesterday over a month later I get an email asking would I keep them for a discount. WHAT?? I bought Oakleys, why would I need them now. None the less responded and asked sure what would the discount be. Guess what happened. You guessed it radio silence. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
Over regular text message (not some clunky web messenger), the agent helped me: determine the right size, select 4 try on at home frames (one of which was listed as out of stock online, the other with a goggle option I didn't even know it had), edited the order after I placed it incorrectly, and locked in a discount from a flash sale so I could use it after the sale technically ended. What a refreshing experience in the modern day of awful customer service. Can not recommend enough.
Since they couldn't bother to get me the home try on kit in a reasonable amount of time to take advantage of their sale I will be immediately returning it without opening and buying my son's glasses elsewhere.
Purchased a pair for my son. He loves them. Excited to use for the upcoming baseball season.
Everything started great. We were sent sample glasses to try on and customer service was helpful finding the right fit. We placed the order and glasses arrived damaged (bent). I emailed customer service three times asking for an exchange and never received a response. I finally called and asked for a refund and received instructions on how to ship glasses back. My return shows it arrived 10/29/25 but I still have not received a refund. Again, no response from customer service about my refund (2 e-mails sent so far to inquire about status). My advice is to save yourself time and frustration and order from somewhere with better customer service.
Requested 4 different types for our son to try on and loved the convenience. Our son was able to try each pair on with his hockey helmet to see what he preferred. Customer service was amazing and stayed in touch the entire time to see if there were questions. Try on choices shipped and arrived so fast!
They are progressive and I can see real good out of the bottom of the lens but that is all. As I progress upward the blurriness gets worse. Have worn every day since I got them. Anybody want to try and help??
The representative that helped me with the order was nice , but i found out after 1 week that she lie about the frame my daughter liked being available. Felt like she only wanted to close a sale. Now my daughter has a tournament and has no sport glasses.
It was amazing to be able to have my son try on a few different pairs before buying so he knew for sure which ones he liked and what ones fit the best! Thanks so much for this!
The side shields come off easily on the High-G model. I had to order more - the 1st time no problem. The 2nd time, i had to send the contact form 2x before I received a reply. The reply: "We don't have available side shields for High G. We can sell the whole frame at a discounted price of $99. 95. " Really?? They have a lifetime guarantee, but don't have replacement parts?? I replied: "That's the best you can do? What do I do with the frame after I remove the side shields, throw it in the landfill- wow, that's really showing how little RecSpecs cares about the environment. " Joseph replied: "Let me check again with our warehouse and will get back to you. " That was 10/1/25, haven't heard back. Very dissapointed. Don't recommend RecSpecs
the process, and the options are just right!! my daughter looked for years. . and has been resistant to contacts. . Thank God for this company!
