As a first time customer I am beyond impressed by the level of customer service I received. Super helpful and knowledgeable, I am a customer for life!
Over regular text message (not some clunky web messenger), the agent helped me: determine the right size, select 4 try on at home frames (one of which was listed as out of stock online, the other with a goggle option I didn't even know it had), edited the order after I placed it incorrectly, and locked in a discount from a flash sale so I could use it after the sale technically ended. What a refreshing experience in the modern day of awful customer service. Can not recommend enough.
Since they couldn't bother to get me the home try on kit in a reasonable amount of time to take advantage of their sale I will be immediately returning it without opening and buying my son's glasses elsewhere.
Purchased a pair for my son. He loves them. Excited to use for the upcoming baseball season.
Everything started great. We were sent sample glasses to try on and customer service was helpful finding the right fit. We placed the order and glasses arrived damaged (bent). I emailed customer service three times asking for an exchange and never received a response. I finally called and asked for a refund and received instructions on how to ship glasses back. My return shows it arrived 10/29/25 but I still have not received a refund. Again, no response from customer service about my refund (2 e-mails sent so far to inquire about status). My advice is to save yourself time and frustration and order from somewhere with better customer service.
Requested 4 different types for our son to try on and loved the convenience. Our son was able to try each pair on with his hockey helmet to see what he preferred. Customer service was amazing and stayed in touch the entire time to see if there were questions. Try on choices shipped and arrived so fast!
They are progressive and I can see real good out of the bottom of the lens but that is all. As I progress upward the blurriness gets worse. Have worn every day since I got them. Anybody want to try and help??
The representative that helped me with the order was nice , but i found out after 1 week that she lie about the frame my daughter liked being available. Felt like she only wanted to close a sale. Now my daughter has a tournament and has no sport glasses.
It was amazing to be able to have my son try on a few different pairs before buying so he knew for sure which ones he liked and what ones fit the best! Thanks so much for this!
The side shields come off easily on the High-G model. I had to order more - the 1st time no problem. The 2nd time, i had to send the contact form 2x before I received a reply. The reply: "We don't have available side shields for High G. We can sell the whole frame at a discounted price of $99. 95. " Really?? They have a lifetime guarantee, but don't have replacement parts?? I replied: "That's the best you can do? What do I do with the frame after I remove the side shields, throw it in the landfill- wow, that's really showing how little RecSpecs cares about the environment. " Joseph replied: "Let me check again with our warehouse and will get back to you. " That was 10/1/25, haven't heard back. Very dissapointed. Don't recommend RecSpecs
the process, and the options are just right!! my daughter looked for years. . and has been resistant to contacts. . Thank God for this company!
What a great system!!
I rarely write reviews, and am doing this only because I’m so pleased with the outstanding service I received from Optics Outfitters. About a year ago, I purchased two pair of Rx Rec Spec goggle/glasses. I’m a pediatric dentist by trade and find myself in crazy positions trying to fix young kids teeth, to the goggle straps are a must. Love the Velocity style, so I got two pair last summer that had progressive lenses, with transitions, anti glare coating etc. Costly because of the lenses more than the frames. About two weeks ago the pair I wear more often started to have an issue with the latex rubber separating from the plastic on the frame. Not awful, but enough to be annoying. I could have purchased a new frame, but recalled the lifetime warranty optics outfitters included with the purchase of their frames. Obviously the lenses aren’t part of the warranty, I would never expect that. So I removed the lenses from the frames, took two or three photos of the broken silicone and sent an email to customer service which included my original order number. I was contacted the next day, which was Tuesday, and today, Thursday the new frames were delivered to my home. Opened the package, brand new at zero cost. No shipping, no handling, no hidden charges. Just wow. Thank you Optics Outfitters. I’ll be back again and again.
I ordered 2 pairs of glasses for my son to wear during his high school basketball activities. Although I considered other companies, I ultimately chose RecSpecs due to the option to try on frames at home, which is a legitimately nice option. I ordered and paid for 2 pairs of the exact same glasses (same frame, same finish, same prescription - literally identical glasses). After a few weeks, I received one of the two pairs. For a month since that first pair was received, I have been spending several (2-10) hours every week trying to get the 2nd order shipped to me. For over a month, I have been made promise after promise by multiple RecSpec staff members, none of which were followed through on. Example: for the last 2 weeks, I've had multiple RecSpec staff tell me the (2nd pair of) glasses were complete and would be shipped to me using overnight air shipping and that I would get a shipping number to track the order/shipment that day (some staff said they would not go home that day until making sure I got the tracking link). I have never received the 2nd pair nor a tracking number or any kind of follow-up from any staff member who committed to anything. I'm shocked at how poorly the communication is within the company (eg: I kept better notes of who said what and when than they had internally). I'm shocked at how little this company cares about trying to fulfill an order fully paid for!! (If anyone from RecSpecs reads this review, I'm referencing order #95921)
I had a good idea of which ones I wanted but had a couple I also wondered about. Turns out I would have made the wrong choice if it wasn't for the try on option. Ordered my new frames the same day.
Placed my order on 08/17 and submit prescription that day. Waited a week and emailed customer support on status. Come to find out they emailed me no phone call or voicemail saying they needed another distance number. I provided that and after a week called and was told I would get an update and text about status which never came. I called back on and said if I don't get an update by end of day I would cancel the order. They at least finally left a voicemail and said my order would arrive by Thursday. Its now Tuesday and still no confirmation that order has actually shipped. $230 for sports goggles and its now been almost a month since I placed an order what joke.
Playing at the kitchen line today, a hard drive was heading for me when it clipped the net and jumped up into my face. My glasses took a direct shot in the exact center of the left lens. Not hurt, no harm. But it could have been brutal. So thankful for the quality glasses I got from you…. . incredible thanks!!!!
I chose this company because of the advertised turn around time being a short time. Distance only lenses, nothing fancy. I’m still waiting. Missed an important opportunity to wear them. I finally got a response from customer service after several days. They checked in my order. Still in production, they said they need a few more days . Never again.
I purchased my first pair of Rec Specs in 1986 when I was diagnosed with myopia. I saw these prescription sports goggles in a small campus optical store at the University of Kentucky, and I knew that I was going to need a safe alternative to my wire frame glasses. I was a very competitive softball player in the 1980s, and I wanted to ensure that my eyewear would stay in place if I dove for a fly ball or slid into a base. I thought if Eric Dickerson trusted Rec Specs, then the product was good enough for me. Padded nose piece, as well as padded temple guards gave me the confidence to play hard with no fear of injury to my face. I had my plastic prescription lenses installed in one day, and I was ready to play ball. The elastic stretch band kept my Rec Specs secure. I highly recommend these sports goggles for any athlete needing safe and effective eyewear. . . 🤓⚾⚽🥎🏀🏐🏈✌️👍💪
Representatives were extremely helpful and responsive during the selection and buying process for my child's baseball glasses.
