      Buyer beware: Customer service extremely hard to reach

      I ordered glasses for my son and it took a little over a week to receive, great news! However, they made his glasses wrong and since we received them I have not been able to reach customer service. I have left several messages, emails, and tried to chat and text. No call back or reply to my email. This is very disappointing, the product is great but he cannot wear them. They claim they will correct the glasses when you initially order, but there is no way to contact customer support other than to leave a message. At this point, I would not recommend for anyone to order directly from their site.

      Writing this as I am trying to get my glasses

      It's been 4 weeks and the order says "unfillfilled" but "paid". In my phone calls, the representatives inform me they are being worked on. I have been promised multiple call backs but have to receive zero. To say I am frustrated would be an understatement. Use caution ordering from the crackerjack company.

      Worst experience

      No one answers the phone and the response to concerns is concerning. Ordered product on April 8th and still haven’t received my glasses.

      Unfullfilled order

      I am writing this review after reaching out to rec specs employees several times. I placed my order on April 4. It has been 38 days, 27 of those were business days, and I have still yet to receive my son's glasses. When I emailed initially to be sure my son's PDI was included, I received an email back right away, along with an offer to order another pair for $99. At that point I was told it takes 8-12 business days for production. After that time passed with no order update, I called customer service to inquire and was given a vague answer and the person would not transfer me to a manager, but she said she would get back to me that day. That was weeks ago and that person has still yet to reach out. Feeling frustrated, I went on the facebook page on April 27th and reached out with my concerns and immediately received a text message from a Rep apologizing and saying they would be sure to "keep a close eye" on my order and update me "the moment they get shipping confirmation". I heard nothing, so the next day I texted for an update and received no answer. Two days later, I called customer service again. That Rep assured me that my son's glasses were in the process of getting coated, and that could take up to five business days. I texted the customer representative again very upset and heard back right away with a message apologizing again, and saying "I'm currently coordinating directly with our laboratory to confirm the exact status" and they would "ensure everything is moving forward as quickly as possible. Please rest assured your order is actively being monitored and remains a priority. " That was 12 days ago and I have heard nothing. We found out my son needed glasses at the end of March and ordered these as soon as we learned about them. Baseball season has now ended and we don't have the glasses and this company continues to give vague answers and not produce the product I paid for. I called customer service again today, 5/12, and got a voicemail box. I WANT MY ...

      Unfulfilled

      This company I believe is fraudulent. I have yet to receive what I ordered. They have yet to refund me. It’s been over a month. Beware!!!

      Horrible Customer Service

      I placed an order for custom glasses over a month ago. I have tried to contact the company multiple times - via chat, text, email and phone with ZERO response regarding the status of my order. I'm incredibly frustrated and at this point just hoping I actually receive glasses. Very disappointed.

      DO NOT ORDER

      This website is a scam. They stopped responding to me after 5 weeks of asking where my glasses were and then I had to put in a dispute with my bank because when I asked to cancel the charge they stopped responding. DO NOT ORDER. You will lose your money.

      Terrible customer service

      I ordered a pair of prescription goggles 3 weeks ago and initially the process went great. They said I would have my glasses in 3 weeks. I sent an email last week asking for an update and received no response. I called yesterday 4/27 and after being on hold for some time the service individual told me she could not tell me the ship date but would check and get to me yesterday or at latest first thing in the morning. I got no call back and called today 4/28 after 5:00 pm and was given no reason why they did not call me back. The gave me an update that there was a quality problem and they have to resubmit the order and could not give me any date right now of when to expect them. I cancelled my order, very frustrating.

      Horrible Customer Service

      Order placed on 3/23/26 for a pair of glasses for my daughter. 6 days later(not sure why it took 6 days) I receive an email asking for my daughter's PD to which I responded that same day. My order conti yes to sit until a week later I receive a text asking same question I called at this time to explain my daughter needed the glasses for a 4/18/26 gymnastics competition. I was assured they would be completed in time. After the order passes 14 business days and now it is al. ost 4/18/26 I call back. I was told final coating was being applied and she was having shipping upgraded to next day so I would have in time. 4/17/26 early afternoon and still nothing. Call back and rep was evasive and kept saying they were doing their best and all they could do. I kept saying the obvious that I was told 3 days earlier that glasses were almost done and would be shipped next day. Rep kept interrupting and ignoring me so I asked to speak to a Supervisor. She assured me I would receive a callback by end of day from Supervisor. It is now 4/21/26, glasses are still not competed nor shipped, my daughter competed with her broken pair because of this and to top it all off I never received a call from a Supervisor. This company is a joke and questioning if even Legitimate. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time with this company because they will not give you a second thought or care about anything. Worst Customer Experience EVER!!!

      TO BE DETERMINED

      Everything looked great originally. Ordered a pair two weeks ago, but have not received glasses yet. I have been inundated with promo emails to buy a second pair at a discount that “ends today “. Apparently the promo never ends, because I get those emails every day. (I actually get 2 per day). Now I get emails to review the yet to arrive new glasses. Which only redirects me to another discounted, last day to save, email! Waiting patiently…….

      Love the specs poor communication and updates

      My son loves his specs. Have ordered 2 pairs (because he lost his 1st pair) work well. 1st pair i didnt upgrade the lenses so they did fog a lot. This round i upgrades the lenses. . . not sure if it will be worth it yet. My biggest issue is the poor updates on shipping and zero answers are provided back from emails or chats.

      Not good

      Most of the reviews are from last year. I ordered on 2/11/2026 and have yet to receive the glasses. I’m very disappointed! And I do not recommend!

      Garbage company, garbage turnaround time, garbage customer

      I ordered a pair of glasses on January 15, 2026. On the website it says expect 5 to 7 business days. I called 14 business days afterwards and was told my order was in process and it would be finished soon. Call back a week later was told it did not meet the QC checks by the lab so they had to redo the glasses. OK no worries. Well here I am writing this review on February 25th 2026 and after paying for overnight shipping, the glasses are still not here. I was told on 24 February that they were shipping and now after calling customer service again today was told that they will ship within the next few days. All a customer service is done is refunded me the $30 I paid for overnight shipping. If I knew it was gonna be this big of a hassle. I would’ve easily paid double and went with another company. The customer service is garbage. Here I am spending over $200 on a pair of goggles for my son for Hockey and the seasons over. Go with somebody else do not order from optics outfitters.

      Waiting more than a month without any updates on my order. . .

      Terrible communication and customer service. I feel like this may be a scam, as I cannot get any sort of update--by phone or text message--on an order that was placed more than a month ago. I cannot get anyone to answer the phone on their 888 phone number, and they only occasionally respond via text message with vague messages such as " we will send you an update tomorrow", or "the glasses are still in our shop". I regret ever ordering from this company.

      No glasses, no communication, no recommendation

      I’m very very disappointed with this company. I’m questioning if Optics Outfitters is even a legitimate company. I have not received any updates on my order, I’ve sent emails and texts and no response. It’s been 15 days since I placed my order. The FAQ’s reports that order process time is 10-12 days. I guess I’m out $150. Nothing for nothing.

      60 days later no product

      I ordered my glasses in December and here we are 60 days later and no glasses. I have called on multiple occasions and keep getting the run around regarding them and production. I paid over $250 and never received my glasses.

      TERRIBLE SERVICE

      I placed an order on January 23rd and was told they would take 10 business days to ship. I called on the 10th day to be told, "oh no, we take up to 12 business days, we are putting the final coating on the lenses and will ship". Today is 14 business days later and they have not shipped and when called I was told another 2-3 business days as "they are putting the final coating on the lenses". Terrible service. I will never purchase from them again, will not recommend and will deter anyone I know from ordering. Do not put a time frame on order processing if you cannot fulfill. It's so frustrating.
