Very informative and easy to learn once you go over all of the material. Would definitely recommend.

MLS is completely focused on preparing you for the final proctored exam, and in this they do an outstanding job. Also, the exam itself is given by them, and so complies with USCG requirements. This is what I did and I highly recommend it, although some may not be able to spend the time I did. I bought their OUPV/Six-pack study guide (4 book set) and also the set of chart plotting tools. I waited to buy the course until it was discounted. They usually discount around holidays. You don't have to activate the course right when you buy it, so you can choose when your 1-year time starts. I spent 10 months with the books and the chart plotting tools. Then I activated my course and spent 2 months with it and then took the test. Test took me 4 days. You have 5 BUSINESS days and you can use weekends and holidays. There are 4 modules contained in the course, my scores were 100, 96, 94, 94. The course itself is structured so that there is a written text in front of you and the instructor reads that text in an audio. Some of the lessons include video (illustrations) and some don't. All said, I'm so happy I chose MLS. I am retired though and have all the time in the world!

The customer service at this company is great. They are always available to walk you through the process, no long wait times or anything. They always emailed me back right away and answered the phone promptly every time I called. They take the confusion out of the paperwork required an really helpful you through the process.

Everything arrived quick and the format is easy to use. There is a lot of material to cover. You have to be prepared to figure things out yourself. You get on explanation and have to move on.

Some discrepancies between the course and the books. The books do not follow the course perfectly but they have provided a way to easily review and reinforce information. Plus it give a secondary testing option with questions that aren't necessarily on the online course quiz.

Great content

Courseware was designed purely to pass a test and not to teach the info. Also, the quizzes should have lined up better with the content-read a little and then quiz on that content. MLS captains courseware was great. Just do the same with MROP
