I have worn this coat in heavy rains, and it indeed kept me dry all day. So I am very satisfied with it. As a side note, I am 5'9', 165 lb. A large size coat fits me in length, but the chest circumference is too tight for me, especially after adding a mid-layer under the coat to keep me warm in the winter rainy days. So I exchanged for an XL size and I am happy with the decision.
