Disappointing delivery service. Damaged chairs. Slow exchange.

Profoundly disappointed with the service I received from your company. My experience has been wholly unacceptable and has left me questioning the legitimacy and professionalism of Holloway of Ludlow. Prior to this order, I had never heard of your company. Based on the appallingly poor service I encountered, I initially assumed I had inadvertently made a purchase from a fraudulent website. I was forced to re-purchase an entire French press after the lid of an existing one broke during normal, light use. My original intent was to replace only the lid. However, despite Hay’s marketing claims around accessibility and durability, no such replacement part was available. If not for the sentimental value the item held for my flatmate, I would never have chosen to re-purchase this product. I acknowledge that the company ‘Hay’ is partially responsible for this failure. I placed my order with the understanding that delivery would take place within 10 days. After this period elapsed with no communication whatsoever, I contacted your customer service team—not once, but twice. It was only after more than double the quoted delivery timeframe had passed that I was informed the item had finally been dispatched. Instead of offering any form of restitution or even a refund—especially after I made it clear the item was intended as a gift—I was given an unhelpful generic statement: “We recommend waiting for the items to arrive before scheduling any tradespeople or events related to this order, just in case of unforeseen shipping delays. ” By the time the item arrived, the intended recipient had moved out. To make matters worse, the final delivery was equally mismanaged. This morning, I received a text confirming a delivery window between 08:12 and 10:12. I ensured I was home for the entire duration. Our order took a few weeks-we had been told-and my request for an update was responded to very quickly. As it was a multi order we were also offered the option of having the in-stock items sent separately. Holloway could not have been more helpful.

Always good quality products and the staff at the Winchester shop are very helpful. Sometimes deliveries can take longer than expected.
