This is a great alternative to other strategies used for helping students self-regulate. I like the many activity options to go along with the character and their short story. I use this with young children and they relate very well to the animal characters and enjoy their names. This also helps me with language when helping remind students of a short time-in break they can take, by referring to the character names, saying remember what.... does.

What I was looking for.. This course is a fresh of breath air compared to other parenting courses that only focus on changing the behavior of tiny humans. Yet this course also helps those parents, caregivers and educators that care for tiny humans with beautiful minds that the world does not understand.

I truly can't believe how quickly the kids have taken to the calming corner. Last night in all her almost 7yr old anger my impulsive adhd-er to the max meds worn off girlie stopped herself and said angrily "I'm gonna go do my feelings!" I cried! She didn't lash out physically and she didn't meltdown; she owned her feelings, and calmed herself in our calming corner. Your freaking brilliant work has changed my children in 2 weeks! And we've only scratched the surface of the manual. I so wish you could see the dysregulated, never had structure or nurture children who came in my door 2yrs ago. I am truly blown away by how they are changing and growing from this work.

The parenting workshop I did through Generation Mindful was helpful beyond words. Rather than just giving me tools to positively parent my children, it gave me the tools to heal my own triggers. In wanting to be a better parent for my kids, I quickly learned that I had to heal the parts of my inner child whose needs were not met by my own parents. Susan has done incredible work for her community of parents and I could not be more grateful for her guidance!
