I ordered boots almost 3 YEARS AGO and they never came. I checked in periodically and they'd always give me some excuse about product. Cut to now and I just asked for a refund because this is ridiculous. NOW I've been emailing customer service nearly every day since November 15 (it's been over a month) and it still hasn't be resolved. This company and their customer service is absolute TRASH.

I ordered a pair of Bolt boots on 24th December and they still have not arrived. I e-mailed the company in March asking for an update and was told I would be informed when they are shipped. I emailed again in April to be told they have no soles and therefore there was a delay. In May I received an e-mail saying the boots were on their way, when I still had not received them by the end of June I checked the status to find they had been shipped back to the store. I received no notifications of shipment, should there have been any issues that needed remedied on my side. I have e-mailed Modern Vice in July and still no response. I was really excited about getting these boots as I'd wanted them for a long time and I am really disappointed with the level of service. As it stands I've paid for shoes that never arrived and no one seems to want to help find a solution.

I've never got my order and nobody answered me on my messages. So, maybe if somebody sees my review here, I'll get feedback faster. Order number is 17212.

I have had a pair of Modern Vice Boots that’s you guys made for me custom for over a year. And it’s taken me this long to get around to writing a review. Not only are they the most beautiful unique one of a kind boots that I have in my collection, but they are incredibly well made and comfortable. You guys did an incredible job in working with me and the craftsmanship is of the highest quality. I highly recommend modern vice boots to everyone.

I had been eyeing these boots for months, and they are even better than I had hoped. Beautiful, soft leather, high quality, super comfortable and I wear them ALL the time, every season. Definitely will buy a second pair to save for the future!

Positive: Ordered 2 boots back in November, 2016. Great deal, both booties were crafted so nicely, exactly what was online. Love! Negative: Ordered back in November 2016, never got a confirmation email that my order was placed though money was taken out of my account and the only confirmation was the websites actual page once I placed it. I understand they're made to order but if my booties were going to take forever to make, getting updates or "sorry for the delay" emails would have been nice and more professional since I did spend $500 with a place I've never ordered from. I received my first bootie after I had emailed inquiring the whereabouts. Delivered in mid-December. 2nd bootie, again, no email updates from ModernVice, continuous emails from me inquiring and broken promises that it's going to take another 2-3 weeks. 3 times, I gave them 4-5 weeks before even emailing again. First few customer service emails from a Regina, not great at all or apologetic. She later responded to me that she no longer worked for Modern Vice. REALLY?? She emailed me from a Modern Vice email, I'm sorry, you shouldn't even have access to a business email if you're no longer there. I'm not an idiot. By now it's almost been half a year (!!!) and my emails started to sound more angry and basically just wanted to get a refund for the pair I had not received yet. Again, I get it-- "made to order" but not acceptable service. Just be straight up with me that you haven't even cut the leather. On a positive note, the new customer service person who was responding to me was more apologetic and sincere. So this time around, I felt reassured that I will get my booties within the 2-3 weeks that was told to me again. Received them at the end of April, 2017. 2*Stars because I do really love the booties I ordered, should really be 1*Star due to a bad first time experience. You did a collaboration with BH&BR that resulted in awful customer service and slow assembly. I waited for months on end for boots that didn't come with all of its components and terrible communication by the company owner. Will not be ordering again. The process was exhausting and she only gave me excuse after excuse

I ordered the South Dakota boots which are absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, I had to wait about 6 months to receive them (which i understand they had a lot of orders to fill so okay, not too upset about that). What was upsetting is that the tongue in the back came off the fourth time I ever wore them and I now have to pay to get them fixed. I hate to knock any brand or leave a less than great review but I was not psyched on that. They were part of the bhxbr line so maybe it is just that line you may have this experience with? I love all the shoes on their site so I would still consider ordering non bhxbr ones.

Breaking Hearts & Burning Rubber--hands down--makes the best boot I've ever laid eyes on. From the craftsmanship, material, design/fit of the shoe, durability, and customer service, these boots are absolutely worth the price and wait. A lot of love was put into these boots, and it shows. No doubt, I will wear them with pride for a lifetime.

I ordered my boots during the Black Friday event that turned into the longest wait for shoes I have ever been a part of, however, it was absolutely worth the wait. I have never owned a pair of boots so comfortable and easy to wear until now. I am a true believer in Modern Vice and will continue to be a customer.
