Amazing quality at a great price!
I work as an auto repair tech, and in my my line of work tools mean everything. The guys I work with all use snap on and mac. They are great tools, however i could never really justify the price. And because of this i have experimented with a lot of different tool brands. I came across Gear wrench a few years ago,and have been hooked ever since. The quality of the tools and the fit and finish of the metal is absolutely on the same level as some of the big named tools i spoke of earlier in this review. The 6 point design really digs into the fastener and to me is very confidence inspiring, i never worry about rounding off bolt heads. This set of sockets is my most used set, no matter what i am doing i can always reach in my box with confidence knowing these sockets will get the job done right. I have never broken a single one and they do take heavy use every day!

Gear Wrench Set
The wrench set arrived in a timely manner. The wrench set was not what I expected though. The part number I ordered was for open end and ratcheting box ends. What I received were "speed" open end and ratcheting box ends on all wrenches. Also, the shipping box was too small for the set and a couple of wrenches punched through the cardboard side. I would have preferred the open end style wrench not the speed open end.

It may have took them a little while, but they finally nailed it. This wrench works exactly as intended, and is a great addition to any tool box. Get yourself a few sets, I guaranty you won't regret it.

Gearwrench Tools, not just a socket
I have recently purchased a number of GearWrench tools. It started with a couple of sets of metric and SAE ratcheting combination wrenches on sale at Sears. The sets were missing a few sizes that I knew I would use, so I bought the single units to complete my selections. Awesome wrenches! Really glad I got them. I also managed to pick up a large set of Craftsman SAE and metric sockets for a really good price, but there were 8-10 standard and deep well sizes missing from those as well. For some reason Craftsman didn't offer the sizes I needed to complete the set. So after experiencing the quality of the wrenches, I figured it was worth the effort to try the GearWrench sockets as they were probably the same high quality. I was able to purchase the missing sockets to complete a each set of metric and SAE standard and deepwell sockets at a great price. I am totally pleased with the tools (quality and prices) and would easily place them among the best I have owned and used. Each and every one has exceeded my expectations for fit and finish. Now I'm looking at torx sockets and screwdrivers and maybe a new ratchet. You can never have too much of a good thing!

I'm not a professional mechanic, just a home hobbyist and these wrenches will more than work for what I need. The chrome is nicely finished, no problems.

Have bought GearWrench before, and when these went on sale I snapped them up. They're great tools and came in a carrying pouch, which I did not expect. Shipped extremely fast. Impossible to beat the quality and price of GearWrench.

Don't loose your reciept
The 9/16" wrench broke three months after I brought it. Went to take it back and they won't exchange it without a receipt. I was under the impression gear wrench operated like Craftsman. If it breaks we'll replace it if you can prove you brought it here. Maybe I'm spoiled by the professional tool warranties - no question replacement - that I use at work. These are nice wrenches but they do break and if you brought it at Advance Auto Parts they want to see your receipt first. I liked the wrenches until ...................
