My recent takeout order from Urban Plates offered a mixed bag of experiences, with some standout dishes and areas for improvement. From the moment I arrived, the takeout service was excellent. The staff member I interacted with was friendly and attentive, immediately acknowledging my arrival, confirming my order was ready, and efficiently packing it up. I also appreciated that they readily provided the napkins and utensils I requested. This positive interaction set a great tone for the meal. The highlight of my order was undoubtedly the Chimichurri Steak. The steak itself was flavorful and delicious, a testament to a well-executed marinade. My only suggestion for this dish would be to explore the use of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit as alternatives to sugar in the marinade, and to ensure the use of Himalayan pink salt for a potentially cleaner flavor profile. Unfortunately, the Hummus was a bit of a letdown. The consistency was quite runny, not at all the thick and appealing texture I've come to expect from hummus, especially compared to the photos I've seen. The taste was also a little odd, lacking the familiar and satisfying flavors of a good hummus. I likely wouldn't order this again. On the other hand, the Ginger Turmeric Basmati Rice was a pleasant surprise. It was perfectly cooked, with a lovely texture. The flavor combination was surprisingly nice, and I would definitely select this as a side again. I think a touch of fresh lemon juice or grated lemon peel could elevate this dish even further, adding a bright note. Finally, the Pineapple Coconut Lime Replenisher was truly impressive. Better than I had anticipated, this drink was a wonderfully refreshing alternative to soda. The combination of pineapple and lime with what I presume was coconut milk (as there are no ingredient listings available) was fantastic. I ordered the grass fed
I ordered the grass fed steak plate on March 29, 2025 with 2 sides online and when I arrived 5 minutes after it said my order was ready, it was not ready and they said my order was not in the system. I showed them my online email receipt to the employees 5 times and they told me I didn’t order it. They then gave me the grass fed steak plate in a bowl that was cold with no sides. When I said they forgot my mushrooms and asparagus sides they said I didn’t have my order placed into the system. Every plate entrée at Urban Plates come with 2 sides and the bread and my order didn’t even come with the bread at the very least and I still paid full price for the cold steak which was $21. 92 total. I’m very unhappy with this order and expect better service next time with all future customers. Do better.

Ordered it for pick up at 5pm and was there at 5 to pick it up - took it home - 5 mins drive to find it was stone cold - the ticket showed that it had been prepared at 4:33pm - it was inedible. will not pre-order at a time in the future
