I’m very satisfied with my purchase of the Alden Factory Seconds FD-N6420 on the 379X last in Color 8. The Color 8 shell has a deep, rich burgundy tone that looks even better in person, and the overall presence of the shoe feels classic and refined. I also really like the 379X last — it has a clean, elegant shape without feeling overly sharp, so it works well with a wide range of outfits. Since this is a Factory Seconds pair, I expected some minor cosmetic imperfections, but nothing stood out enough to bother me. The overall quality, leather character, and balance on foot still feel very much in line with what I look for in Alden. What I like most is how easy they are to wear both casually and in slightly dressier settings. They feel versatile, comfortable, and full of character. I’m also looking forward to seeing how the Color 8 develops with wear over time.
