Great quality and easy assembly! Other reviews I read said start with front screw on arm rests and I did without a problem. I am 6’ 190 lbs and the chair is a perfect fit but I got the tall and I would strongly encourage considering the tall version even if you are smaller in stature Feels like a chair that will last a long time. I wouldn’t say it’s a bargain but considering the price of the real deal it is at least attainable. No regrets.

I’m completely happy with the purchase. There is a vintage lounge chair at our university library I can compare to. Size aside, I bought the tall, they are very close. I can’t speak for customer service, I haven’t needed it. And like many of you I found the website dedicated to bashing this chair. None of the complaints on that website apply to my chair, which arrived in flawless condition. This was a great purchase.

Perfect sized chair for me. I am short (5'2") and this chair is perfect for me. If I were taller I would have needed the larger chair, however. Easy to put together. Leather is high quality. Very satisfied.

My complements to the company for a great Eames replica and their support. I really like the chair - it’s comfortable, has good materials and workmanship for the money, and assembles easily. I received the chair in a very strong cardboard ‘crate’. Everything was great except that the ottoman post had a large scratch and the chair base had some oxidation at the top. I contacted support and they sent me a replacement post and polishing compound for the chair base. No questions asked. As far as I can tell this replica has the same dimensions as the original Eames Lounge Chair. Some reviewers complained that the ‘head rest’ was too low, so be aware that the chair wasn’t designed by the Eames’ to have a head rest. Instead, the top cushion was meant to support the shoulders and the top of that cushion is meant to cradle the neck when the head is leaned back. Regarding size, I’m 5’9’ and debated getting the tall size based on some reviews. I ended up buying the regular size when I discovered that the tall chair had 2” more seat depth. I went to Design Within Reach and sat in the authentic regular and tall sizes and found that the additional seat length in the tall made it uncomfortable for me to sit in the chair with my feet resting on the floor. If you only ever sit with your legs up this won’t be an issue but I sometimes like to sit with feet in the floor. One thing I never liked about the original Eames chair is the fixed 15 degree tilt. I own an original 1960’s Plycraft chair “in the style of Eames” and love that it has a variable tilt mechanism. I was able to buy a new replacement base for Plycraft Eames-like chairs and ‘hacked’ my new Eames replica chair by adapting the fixed base with the tilting mechanism. So for less than $200 my Eames replica tilts/rocks smoothly from 3 to 20 degrees and I didn’t have to alter the Eames replica, except to remove the chair base and legs( so it looks different in the photo as it’s not reclining). Just received my Eames Lounger Replica from The Iconic Chair, and I am very pleased with it. I am replacing an original 70’s Eames Lounger whose leather was entirely shot. Replacing just the leather arms on the original Herman Miller chair cost the same as this entire replacement chair and ottoman. Assembling the new chair (a fairly simple procedure) and disassembling the old chair, I was able to make a lot of very close comparisons between the original and the replica chair, and the new chair is astonishingly close. I would say the metal parts are a tiny bit smaller, and the tilt of the arms is a few degrees different, but you would never know this if you didn’t have an original Eames chair side by side for comparison. The materials are great, very nice matte leather, very comfortable foam, the veneer is very nice and looks like Brazilian rosewood, perhaps a little thinner than the original. It is sturdy and very comfortable and of course it looks like a Herman Miller chair, so it is beautiful. The only problem I had with the assembly was installing the arms, which was a little bit of a struggle, but it is a struggle on the original chairs too, for the same reason. Just part of the design. Best to lay the chair on its side, run the bolt through the threaded holes in the arm rests before you try to install them to clean the threads, and then just work to line up the holes. They include a T-handled Allen wrench, which was helpful. Assembly instructions are fairly rudimentary, but really, most of the chair is already assembled. They thoughtfully supply extra bolts and small parts in case you lose something. It was packed very well, though the shipping box suffered some very severe shipping damage (but no damage to the chair). All in all, a highly satisfactory experience.

We've had originals and ordered one of these more affordable versions. It's pretty exacting in appearance and quality. We liked it so much that we ordered another to go with it. Love these chairs!

Very, very happy with this purchase. I had read a review or two that indicated some people having trouble putting it together. It took less than 10 minutes - and they included the tool. Would recommend 10/10 times.

I really can't believe how low this chair sits. For the price, I had no idea I was buying a chair for a child. This looks terrible next to furniture for adults.
