If it were possible I would give no stars for this review. I ordered 2 sets of goblets as Christmas gifts and one set contained a broken goblet on arrival. I reported it to Spode and received an Out of Office response despite their timetable showing it as a working day. I assumed I’d get a response dealing with the problem but heard absolutely nothing from Spode. After a week of waiting, I forwarded my original email, was told I couldn’t have a replacement and was offered a refund, which I accepted. I received an email one week later telling me that a refund had been processed but my bank account showed that only half of the money had been returned. I informed Spode’s customer service of this and asked for the remaining amount but - as with my original email - my communication was ignored by the customer service department. I waited another ten days, contacted Spode again to request the remaining money and waited another four days for the payment to arrive in my account. Still nothing from Spode, though, until the following day when I received an email saying “Your credit memo has been processed”. I should point out that throughout the month during which the customer service department couldn’t be bothered to contact me, I was receiving daily marketing emails telling me about the products Spode wished to sell. I won’t be buying anything else from Spode and suggest that all potential customers take note of my experience of their post-purchase “service”.
