It makes me feel good to plant something that will hopefully be around long after I am gone. This Bur Oak can become a giant of a tree and live to 150 years old!

I have used Arbor Day Foundation, in lieu of sending flowers, to make a donation towards planting trees in a forest of great need, for a loved one who has passed away. They offer several packages which you can choose from according to your budget. Also, their website is easy to navigate and if you have a question which isn’t answered in their “FAQs” section you can email them and they will immediately reply. Once the donation is made, a certificate, which can be mailed or emailed to a family member, is something that, when received, deeply touches the family because their loved one is being remembered in such a beautiful way. If you want to do something special for a loved one I would recommend using Arbor Day Foundation to have trees planted in their memory. Not only are you doing something special for a loved one but you are also helping in keeping our forest growing for future generations to enjoy…just as God intended.

I have purchased numerous trees from Arbor Day and usually have success. I find that the 5 gallon ones usually do well but the smaller ones I've had have failed so I get the bigger ones for here in Texas.

I have been trying to find an American Holly for a while as my grandfather planted on at his house when I was born. I have tried to get a piece from it to seed and was unable. I was happy when I saw that Arbor Day Foundation had one as no one local seemed to have any. I have planted it and can't wait to watch it grow over the year. My only complaint would be that I would have thought for the price that it would have been a little larger. But overall I am very happy.

Great way to honor someone when they pass away. The forest are in great need of tree replacements and this is such a great way to honor someone’s memory!! I buy them often.
