A Great Idea, Poorly Carried Out
The idea for this service is excellent, and I was very excited to try it. Unfortunately the user experience is disappointing and customer service is pretty half-assed. All I wanted is the service described on their website. All I got was excuses.

If your a pedal “ Junkie “
Always ready with any pedal I need, as long as it’s not all ready out. I can truly say I have saved time and money by being able to try a product first before buying.🎸

Poor website experience
I haven't received my first pedal yet so I can't speak for the service itself, but my experience so far has been mixed. I found your website by searching for a pedal rental service on google and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, I found the website to be very buggy. I received random error messages any time I tried to do pretty much anything - signing up for an account? Error message saying it couldn't be completed. Received a confirmation email to verify my account - clicked on the link - error message saying my account couldn't be confirmed (though it brought me to my account dashboard anyway). Tried to subscribe to a plan and it took me 30 minutes of trying different things in different browsers before I managed to submit payment, and when I finally did I was directed to an error message page with no confirmation of purchase (though I did receive a confirmation email). Most emails I have received are also very sloppy, and contain unformatted script like "Greetings {{htmlescape var=$customer.name}},!". Overall, it just seems like the website is not well maintained which is a bit concerning for a new customer because it makes me wonder how the rest of the business is run. I am willing to overlook the website issues if the service is good, but I would recommend trying to create an account on your website so you can see the issues that the average person is facing when considering signing up for your service. You're probably losing potential customers because the website is not user friendly. Hoping the service is good because I think it's a really great idea, though!

This is really a COOL service!!
I love it. You can try out all kinds of pedals you normally couldn't afford. What's really cool is the speed in witch the ship product out. I returned one pedal and in 2 days the new one was in my box. I don't know how they do it but they do. It's just really great for my situation. I'm a ex-rocker with a wife and kid. I like high-end equipment because I only play as a hobby, for myself now and not on stage. SO I get pleanty of time to mess with these pedals and when you find the one you like you can bough it. This is just really cool. Honestly I don't know how they make anything but I'm very happy they do what they do and do it so well. Keep on rocking in the free world,. Now with the gear you dreamed of!

Loads of pedals, great service, quick shipping!
I like this service and there are nice people there, at their offices in Florida. Most of the boutique pedals for OD/DS are probably a waste of time (for metal players), but you get to TRY a bunch of them with Pedal Genie. In the end, the most useful pedal I tried was the "Your Dirty Rat" pedal because it showed me the kind of distortion pedal that bonds very well with my Marshall head. The only aspect of this experience that is missing, for me, is someone to recommend pedals for metal using a Marshall head (EL34s). I recommend Pedal Genie.

Needs a lot of work or a significant price adjustment.
So I will say the return process has gotten better and easier since the first time I had a subscription. That’s about the only thing that’s really improved at it’s core since I tried it around 2016-17. This really is a service that would be good for people that constantly have about 15 pedals they want to try out relatively equally. If you have about ten total, after a couple months, you’re going to run out of use for the service. I’ve been getting my bottom tier wish list pedals consistently for the last few months, and since they encourage you to have a certain number of pedals on the list, a lot of those aren’t really things I’m super interested in to begin with. Also, every time an order is returned or sent, the order of the wish list gets messed up. I make notes of priority for each pedal but I have no idea if this is actually referenced before they send something. Going off of my experience, I’d have to say probably not. And the shipping is not always a fast or communicated process. Ive gone 3 weeks in between pedals. This would be easier to justify if I was paying $10 or even $20 a month, but $40 a month is a lot of money to only be able to use it 25% of a month sometimes. Sometimes its because there’s nothing in stock, once it was because they just didn’t notice that my return came in. To be fair, they back credited my account when that happened, but still. And unless you get return tracking numbers when you send it back, you have no idea when they’ve processed the return. I understand a service like this has a lot of overhead costs and to have multiple of each pedal while not charging late fees may be tough, especially in a pandemic where everything’s out of stock anyways, but then the marketing should be adjusted to more accurately describe the service. And to be honest, it was just as bad if not worse the time I tried it before the pandemic. I’m probably going to be cancelling my subscription after I return my latest one, which is a shame because there a...

Very good service that allows me to evaluate pedals.
I really like the service, and it is serving its primary purpose of allowing me to evaluate pedals without having to purchase them. The only drawbacks are a slight limitations in selection and the difficulty associated with getting the high priority pedals I want when I want them.

My Favorite Subscription Service
Recommend the service highly. Fun to try out different pedals at home on my equipment and at my convenience. Would prefer that my wishlist could be smaller than 10 items.

Always great customer service. Great pedals. I’ve dodged a few bullets renting instead of buying pedals the last 5yrs. Thank you!

Pedal Genie has no equal
Great selection and responsive/helpful support. I tried them in the past and have returned to see what more they have available. I've been pleasantly surprised each month!

It's a nice service to
It's a nice service to try different pedals, but the website sucks on a phone. It's only usable on a desktop computer. They need to make an app for phones for pedal genie so you can manage your wishlist.

Not great If you don't like being Ames for purchasing a service.
The whole idea of subscribing is based upon getting pedals as soon as you want them. This is not the case. When you make a wish list of the pedals you want, it will be your fault when there is a large delay in getting pedals. I've had multiple emails from pedal genie explaining that I'm not receiving pedals because of the pedals I chose. I don't see myself being subscribed too much longer based upon pedal genie telling me it's my fault I'm not receiving pedals. Instead of improving the business, they could stop blaming customers for how things are done.

Wish Pedal Genie would have been available 10 years ago!
You guys are awesome! I have gotten to try out 2 $300+ pedals in 3 weeks Instead of buying one and eating the cost. The shipping has been super fast and there has been great communication. I have turned 4 of my friends on to you guys as well. This is an amazing service for the cost.

Pretty good, just really slow.
They're really slow with getting pedals shipped once returned. I feel like I have to constantly contact them to get the next pedal shipped. It's almost worth it's but it's pushing it with the customer service.
