I have been a loyal Northstar customer for well over a year, which made this experience even more disappointing. WE ORDERED MEAT ON A FRI, AND THEY SENT OUT AN EMAIL THAT MONDAY DELAYING THE SHIPMENT FOR A WEEK. THEUR HOLIDAY WEBSITE ISN'T EVEN UPDATED. NO CHANGE TO REFUND THE MONEY WAS GIVEN SO WE COULD BUY OTHER MEAT THAT WEEK. THEY TOOK THE MONEY AND SAID TOO BAD. WAIT. Our order was not shipped within the timeframe we were given. Instead, we waited approximately two weeks for a shipment containing perishable food. This created a significant hardship because we rely on these products for our child, who has a serious food allergy and limited dietary options. Instead of resolving the situation in a meaningful way, we were forced to spend additional time and money trying to secure safe food for our child while also working with our bank to recover our payment. The only compensation offered was a refund of the shipping cost, which did not come close to addressing the inconvenience or the additional expenses we incurred. To make matters worse, after we disputed the charge with our bank because the order was not fulfilled as expected, Northstar informed us that they would not ship any future orders unless the disputed funds were repaid. That was an unexpected way to treat a customer who had supported the company consistently for over a year. Reliable fulfillment and customer service matter, especially when families depend on specialty foods for medical or allergy-related needs. Unfortunately, this experience has caused us to lose confidence in Northstar, and we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Ground bison patties are nice and tender, very lean and have great taste! ALso ordered the tenderloin bites hoping to try those next weekend!

The beef cubes are cut small (< 1 inch) so cooking them in the instant pot takes 25 minutes which is perfect for those of us who have to eat low histamine.

Northstar always has superior product and service. First time in decades UPS caused a package to break open and delayed delivery so it thawed and leaked. Northstar promptly refunded the package.

I've been ordering from Northstar Bison for a while now and they always deliver fast, package well, and provide timely notifications. Price went up lately but it's not unusual nowadays, unfortunately. On the other hand, their product remains to be topnotch. I will continue ordering from them as I enjoy the variety available on their site. And free shipping (with a minimum required order) is nice :)
