A couple of weeks ago I ordered a selection of Rublev Watercolor half pans. After trying them I fell in love right away. The colors are great and the paint is very pigmented. I've had other watercolor paints before from well know brands, but these paints are something different. I love that I now can do some modern works with historic pigments. . . but of course I try some more traditional works too. By now I've completed my collection with another order and even have ordered a small selection for traveling and doing plein air as well. Can't wait to use these outside. One of the 48 colors I ordered couldn't be activated and the color itself was off, but customer service was very helpfull to solve the issue.

I recently purchased the titanium white pigment from Natural Pigments and could not be happier with the quality. The pigment is very finely ground, beautifully smooth, and wonderfully opaque. It handles exceptionally well in paint mixtures and gives such a luminous, clean white in my icon painting work. There is a richness and beauty to this pigment that truly enhances the sacred quality of the icons I paint. I appreciate the care and craftsmanship that clearly go into Natural Pigments products, and this titanium white has become one of my favorites in the studio. I've used Spike oil to make violin varnish, but my wife hates the smell of turpentine. I think turpentine works great, and like the smell. So I bought the Spike. She went in the basement the next day after I used some, and said it smells so good down there. I agree, and it works well too. I really don't like the smell of OMS at all. Odorless? I don't think so. Clean brushes, loose paint for underpainting, good smell.

Just what I needed! I like the firm, natural Ox bristles for loose strokes, with some extra bounce due to the length. Not as firm as hog hair, but stiffer than mongoose.
