the person who re-strung my instrument yesterday was willing to teach me how to do it, and was very patient and skillful both in the job he did and in his way of teaching. It was a wonderful experience, and the ambiance of the shop was, as well. Another staff person there spent time with myself and a friend responding to every question we had - and we had many! I am six months into tabla, after casually enjoying classical Indian music for twenty six years. It is a vista opening up before me like a mountain appearing through the clouds. I carry this tabla set with me on the journey. It warms up as I play it, and I look forward to learning new bols each time I have a lesson with my teacher. This shop is (apart from being the only place to find these instruments), amazing, helpful and will explain everything about the instruments, from the style of playing, where they are built, who built them and so on. I love to stop by and check out their collection from time to time! makes me feel like I'm in an instrument shop in india!

I stopped in at the store after years of wanting to visit - I was not disappointed. I picked out a beautiful Jeff Whittier bansuri, and had a nice chat with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. I plan to head back soon; they have a great selection of harmoniums!
