I had purchased this hojicha and was genuinely impressed by it. I had originally bought it for baking madeleines and they turned out so well with this hojicha being so high quality and strong. Friends who tried it also agreed that the flavor was very good! It was so good drinking this hojicha too and I would definitely be purchasing this hojicha again!

I had been on a hunt for hojicha, and I wanted to try the different between a regular roast and a dark roast. My favorite hojicha thus far. It’s bold, but not too overpowering. It’s nutty, tasty, and the best tasting hojicha I’ve tried. I just hope their shipping by partner (Amazon) used a better packaging to ship their product because my tin arrived disfigured, bent, and now my tin can’t be closed, isn’t air tight, and the powder is at rating to leak out due to the disfigured tin. Otherwise, the product itself is amazing.

This matcha froths up super nicely to create one of the most smooth and creamy matchas I’ve ever had. It’s definitely more grassy and earthy to me but is creamy at the same time. Good matcha for the price point! Shipping was also super quick!

I bought hojicha from kyo hayashiya, and i know i will keep reordering this hojicha powder! i have tried different kinds and this one has to be my favorite. it has a deep roasted chocolately flavor and is very smooth! it froths very nicely and has a beautiful deep brown color. another thing i love is the packaging as well, it seals in the product very nicely and is a high quality tin! i will definitely repurchase and this will be my go to hojicha from now on, especially for the price point and fast shipping

This matcha is great tasting! Has a very light and nutty flavor with a bright green color. The shipping was super fast and the matcha is very reasonably priced. I would recommend this matcha and I am looking forward to trying some of the other types of matcha from this brand!

Great quality matcha at great price! I’ve purchased Organic Daichi No Mukashi (大地の昔), and Wakamatsu no Mukashi (若松の昔)；both very nice. Wakamatsu has a young plant, clean refreshing taste, and Daichi had a young plant brightness, with a hint of smokey houjicha which was a surprise and I loved it. This prompted me to purchase the Houjicha powder (haven’t tried it yet). Will be ordering my matches from Kyohayashiya from now on.

I tried the Wakamatsu matcha and was really impressed by the flavor profile. For $24 a tin, the price feels worth the money. The flavor is smooth, with just a touch of bitterness that balances nicely in a latte. That is if your a fan/ like a little bit of astringency. It tastes fresh and creamy, not weak like some other brands I’ve bought before. Shipping was also quick I received it within about three days of purchase!

I really liked this hojicha powder! I had the midori spring hojicha before this and it wasn't as strong. I think this one is more rich and smokey and has a beautiful color. the packing is really nice and has a premium feel to it. it comes with 60g of quality hojicha powder that lasts you a while. would def recommend!

Love this matcha powder so much! I’ve never had a powder foam up as easily as this one, it’s super easy to whisk up. Love the flavor as well! It is a super well-balanced and doesn’t veer to much into one particular area, but has a slight umami that I enjoy. Shipping took a while though, which is expected since it’s coming straight from Japan.
