I bought hojicha from kyo hayashiya, and i know i will keep reordering this hojicha powder! i have tried different kinds and this one has to be my favorite. it has a deep roasted chocolately flavor and is very smooth! it froths very nicely and has a beautiful deep brown color. another thing i love is the packaging as well, it seals in the product very nicely and is a high quality tin! i will definitely repurchase and this will be my go to hojicha from now on, especially for the price point and fast shipping

This matcha is great tasting! Has a very light and nutty flavor with a bright green color. The shipping was super fast and the matcha is very reasonably priced. I would recommend this matcha and I am looking forward to trying some of the other types of matcha from this brand!

Great quality matcha at great price! I’ve purchased Organic Daichi No Mukashi (大地の昔), and Wakamatsu no Mukashi (若松の昔)；both very nice. Wakamatsu has a young plant, clean refreshing taste, and Daichi had a young plant brightness, with a hint of smokey houjicha which was a surprise and I loved it. This prompted me to purchase the Houjicha powder (haven’t tried it yet). Will be ordering my matches from Kyohayashiya from now on.

I tried the Wakamatsu matcha and was really impressed by the flavor profile. For $24 a tin, the price feels worth the money. The flavor is smooth, with just a touch of bitterness that balances nicely in a latte. That is if your a fan/ like a little bit of astringency. It tastes fresh and creamy, not weak like some other brands I’ve bought before. Shipping was also quick I received it within about three days of purchase!

I really liked this hojicha powder! I had the midori spring hojicha before this and it wasn't as strong. I think this one is more rich and smokey and has a beautiful color. the packing is really nice and has a premium feel to it. it comes with 60g of quality hojicha powder that lasts you a while. would def recommend!

Love this matcha powder so much! I’ve never had a powder foam up as easily as this one, it’s super easy to whisk up. Love the flavor as well! It is a super well-balanced and doesn’t veer to much into one particular area, but has a slight umami that I enjoy. Shipping took a while though, which is expected since it’s coming straight from Japan.

When I received it the packaging was so thoughtful and intentional, it was a whole experience just opening it. When I first got it I was surprised how fast I got it delivered. Although I’m still fairly new with matcha this was one of the best I have tried so far, it wasn’t bitter and you could really taste the matcha. I had wide eyes the first time I took my first sip. I say this is worth the try.
