food came quick but very expensive

I’ve been purchasing the Single Ingredient Just Chicken from Just Food for Dogs for over three years, and while the product smells fresh and my dogs love the larger pieces, I continue to run into the same frustrating issue. Every bag contains an excessive amount of extremely tiny fragments—often making up more than a quarter of the entire product. Once the larger pieces are used, I’m left with a pile of crumbs that are difficult to feed to my dogs and ultimately go to waste. For a premium product, this inconsistency is disappointing, especially after years of loyal purchasing. I truly enjoy the quality of the chicken itself, but the disproportionate amount of unusable small pieces has become a recurring and discouraging problem.

I’m really grateful for the care and thoughtfulness at JustFoodForDogs. My dog was recently diagnosed with liver cancer, so making sure he eats well and won't cause him discomfort is my top priority. I had trouble figuring out the right food online, but their nutritionist, Taylor, walked me through everything and recommended the hepatic formula, the right fit for him and much more budget-friendly. When you’re caring for a terminal dog, you’re in a vulnerable place, and it would be easy for a company to upsell. Taylor didn’t. She was kind, honest about cost, and focused on what was best for my dog. I sincerely appreciate the transparency and compassion.

My dog has idiopathic hepatitis. With careful management, we’ve kept his ALT at a reasonable level. A recent spike requires urgent care, so my vet recommends a new diet. JustFoodForDogs has a dedicated dietary specialist team. They discussed options and made personalized recommendations for my dog. The representative was thorough, knowledgeable, and empathetic, understanding our battle.

The last 2 bags I purchased of Just Chicken treats were 1/4 crumbs. These treats are very expensive. After contacting the company & jumping through MANY hoops (receipts, photos, 3 emails) I received a "thank you for bringing this problem to our attention" email. REALLY? Not even a 5% coupon towards my next purchase?!?

My dogs LOVED it! I received a small packet of this food for free for my honest opinion. My dogs both have sensitive stomachs, and one is extremely finicky about what he will eat. I added this food to their regular food as they were both under the weather and required some medications at meal time. They absolutely loved the food, and took their medications with it better than ever. I would absolutely recommend this food as it is easy to store and my picky eater could hardly wait for it.

I was able to have my dogs try for free JustFoodForDogs JustFresh Home-Cooked Dog Food (Beef). I don't mind paying for quality food because I believe there are many benefits in the product and that is what JustFoodForDogs JustFresh Home-Cooked Dog Food has, quality. My dogs gobbled the food up and wanted more right away. I felt like I was providing a healthy and tasty meal for my dogs. The smell of the food was my only complaint, but it makes sense since the product contains all natural ingredients.

We received a free sample of the Home-Cooked Beef recipe from PinchMe. Our dog ate it without any issue, though it wasn’t quite enticing enough to replace his regular food. That said, we really appreciate the convenience—having a fresh, ready-to-serve meal on hand that doesn’t require the same level of refrigeration or prep as many other fresh dog foods is a real plus. It’s a great backup option or something easy to bring along when traveling.

My dog Tator (corgi) is a new customer he has just been on JFFD since Nov 1st. So far so good. Tator has IBD he just got diagnosed last week with it after bloodwork that was sent off to Texas A&M. His diet has totally changed I have him off kibble 100% only thing he gets is the venison squash diet his probiotic and some slippery elm and no flare up. I'm crossing my paws that it continues on the right path.

My dog was crazy over this food. He gobbled it down like he was starving. I was surprised it had a pleasant smell. It wasn't messy to serve.

My dogs love their Just for Dogs food! They help me make it every weekend, they might even get to lick the bowl. Cash, my 9 year old lab mix, was extremely obese and just laying around no energy to do anything. I made the decision in April of 2025 to start making their dog food. I found out about Just for Dogs through an online dog group that I belong too. Since starting Cash has lost 20+ pounds and has enough energy to keep up for awhile with my Border Collie, Jack. before switching Jack was taking forever to eat his food. Now he can't wait.

Riley loves Just Food for Dogs! He is not a picky eater, so it was a surprise when he turned up his nose to the Turkey meals on another plan. We don't give him chicken since he get itchy when he eats it, so I was feeling like there was not much to give him except Beef when I found Just Food for Dogs. He loves the Turkey and Whole Wheat Macaroni!

I appreciate that my dog which like most dogs has Chicken and Beef allergies that we can get prescription food. My Dog loves the lamb renal support food that she needs to keep her healthy.

I used to think that feeding my dog fresh, human-grade food meant hours of cooking and meal prep, which my incredibly busy schedule made impossible. Then I got a sample of JustFoodForDogs. After just one meal, Gizmo was hooked, and so was I. I can now feed him the kind of quality, nutritious food he deserves, and all I have to do is open the package. The ingredients looked so fresh, I knew right away it was a high-quality product. Gizmo's consistent excitement at mealtime says it all and seeing him thrive has made me a loyal customer who is happy to purchase this food regularly.

I am unsure of JFFD at this point. My pups love the meals especially the beef meal which my one dog is doing well on. My other pup a cavapoo, while she loves the lamb meal, i think it has too much rice. She also just recently vomited all of her lamb meal and was vomiting for 2 days. Is all the rice used as a filler to more expensive meat? In comparison to other fresh food services, I think JFFD is using way too many grains and not enough meat. The packaging could improve because i feel alot of food I can not scrape out of the boxes or the resealable packs and its wasted. Additionally, it is very confusing to use the website as far as an organized way for me to have each of my dogs profiles and an easy way to change their meal plan if i need to.

This food is life saving. My little old Yorkie has 38 allergies and this is the ONLY food he can safely eat!

My Yorkiepoo Chase loves the beef and pork flavors. He's so extremely picky, if it was fresh or frozen I've tried it and he's denied it. Now he loves breakfast and dinner!

I received a free sample of the home-cooked chicken recipe from Pinchme and my girl loves it. She is a retired greyhound and lately has been a really picky eater. JFFD is a great boost to her current prescription kibble. This food looks and smells great. A great healthy option and I love that it comes in a reseable bag.
