I had high hopes for JustFoodForDogs, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. Not only did my dog have an allergic reaction after eating the food, but the company’s shipment schedule is incredibly inaccurate. They were sending me way too much food way too often based on my dog’s size and the calorie amount they actually need. For a company that claims to tailor meals to your pet, this was frustrating and wasteful, especially given how expensive the food is. To make things worse, when I reached out for help, the customer service was poor and unhelpful. I didn’t feel like my concerns were taken seriously, which is unacceptable when it involves a pet’s health and a premium-priced product. When you’re paying premium prices for “fresh” dog food, you expect accuracy, consistency, and safety. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any of those.

I came from Farmers Dog. . . My vet recommended this. Food was good, but then again, my dogs loved Farmers Dog. They were less helpful with determining how much to feed my "big boned" pug. They suggested a lower calorie packet and we fed accordingly. . but my pug gained 3 lbs! After steady maintaining on Farmers Dog, I dont like that she jumped so fast. My other 2 dogs saw no marked difference, but the Pug is my biggest concern. I am going back to Farmers dog since I can trust their portions

I have a yellow lab that eats everything, including things he’s not supposed too. I thought I would give him a treat from his dry food (blue buffalo). I purchased the chicken and rice and he would not eat it! I then added our own rice we were having for dinner on top. He ate that rice and still did not touch the Just food for dogs. I have to say I was shocked that he didn’t even try to eat it. We left it in his bowl hoping he would as we didn’t want to waste it, especially since it’s costly. Hoping I will find some “real” food that he will eat.

I was provided a trial sample of Just Food for Dogs specifically for review, and I love the idea behind this product—real, fresh food instead of hard, processed kibble. The cooked chicken recipe looks and smells like real food, and my dogs really liked it. Unfortunately, I have two very large dogs, and the price just isn’t financially realistic for me long-term. I’d love to use it again in the future if it were more affordable. Would be 5 stars otherwise.

My Dog was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and was prescribed Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Low fat but he did not like it at all I had to force hand feed to get some foo din him so I spoke with his IM Dr. and she recommended Hepatic support and let me tell you he loooves it he looks forward to his meals.

I found your food at a tractor supply store last night and thought I’d try it. My pet is only 6 & has multiple allergies and seizures & is very picky! He attacked the bowl of pork food literally, & I’ve tried all brands and he hates them but not JFFD’s!!

I purchased this food for my dog and set up an autoship. My dog was eating it for a few weeks then got very sick and was urinating very excessively. I stopped feeding it of course, called JFFD and they said they would cancel my subscription. A few months later I am charged $100 and shipped more food. When I reached out to them they said they couldn’t offer a refund and to just give the food away. Even though I called and cancelled months in advance they say there is no record of it. They wouldn’t let me return the box even though it hasn’t even been opened. It will be going in the garbage, I won’t be giving away this food knowing it made my dog sick.

This is difficult to get out of the package. Texture is a bit like spackle. Likes the fresh way better.

My dog really likes this food. Quality control isn't perfect, sometimes the food is chunkier (my dog is missing teeth), my last batch was grainier, like it had quinoa in it or something. The food is still fresh, and other than having to cut up Brussels sprouts or squash, we're happy with it.

JustFoodForDogs is a company I am very happy with. After going crazy trying to cook for my animals and feeling as though they were not getting the minerals, nutrients and vitamins that are essential for their health, I just about gave up! Then, a vet recommended this company and now I cook with confidence knowing my animals are getting everything they need. They are happy, healthy, soft fur, white teeth and very active. I highly recommend JustFoodforDogs

I've been a customer for several yeas and recently received two 12-case boxes of the chicken & rice, and the texture and quality were awful in both cases. Strange color, mushy/oily/sticky texture with an odd smell. The "quality control" team had the gall to tell me there was nothing "incorrect" about the quality and texture, despite me absolutely knowing what it's supposed to look like, as I've been ordering these for years. I'd give a minus star if I could.

food came quick but very expensive

I’ve been purchasing the Single Ingredient Just Chicken from Just Food for Dogs for over three years, and while the product smells fresh and my dogs love the larger pieces, I continue to run into the same frustrating issue. Every bag contains an excessive amount of extremely tiny fragments—often making up more than a quarter of the entire product. Once the larger pieces are used, I’m left with a pile of crumbs that are difficult to feed to my dogs and ultimately go to waste. For a premium product, this inconsistency is disappointing, especially after years of loyal purchasing. I truly enjoy the quality of the chicken itself, but the disproportionate amount of unusable small pieces has become a recurring and discouraging problem.

I’m really grateful for the care and thoughtfulness at JustFoodForDogs. My dog was recently diagnosed with liver cancer, so making sure he eats well and won't cause him discomfort is my top priority. I had trouble figuring out the right food online, but their nutritionist, Taylor, walked me through everything and recommended the hepatic formula, the right fit for him and much more budget-friendly. When you’re caring for a terminal dog, you’re in a vulnerable place, and it would be easy for a company to upsell. Taylor didn’t. She was kind, honest about cost, and focused on what was best for my dog. I sincerely appreciate the transparency and compassion.

My dog has idiopathic hepatitis. With careful management, we’ve kept his ALT at a reasonable level. A recent spike requires urgent care, so my vet recommends a new diet. JustFoodForDogs has a dedicated dietary specialist team. They discussed options and made personalized recommendations for my dog. The representative was thorough, knowledgeable, and empathetic, understanding our battle.

The last 2 bags I purchased of Just Chicken treats were 1/4 crumbs. These treats are very expensive. After contacting the company & jumping through MANY hoops (receipts, photos, 3 emails) I received a "thank you for bringing this problem to our attention" email. REALLY? Not even a 5% coupon towards my next purchase?!?

My dogs LOVED it! I received a small packet of this food for free for my honest opinion. My dogs both have sensitive stomachs, and one is extremely finicky about what he will eat. I added this food to their regular food as they were both under the weather and required some medications at meal time. They absolutely loved the food, and took their medications with it better than ever. I would absolutely recommend this food as it is easy to store and my picky eater could hardly wait for it.

My dogs gobbled the food up and wanted more right away. I felt like I was providing a healthy and tasty meal for my dogs. The smell of the food was my only complaint, but it makes sense since the product contains all natural ingredients.
