Helpful support and the units function well with every brand of opener I have.

I was looking for a solution to check on the garage door as it remains open too often. I bought this product based on the installation video which was very well done. I installed it in about 1. 5 hours but I could have done it faster. I was amazed it works that easily as soon as I installed the app on my phone. It works like a charm. I can't think of any other product I bought that worked so seamlessly right from the start.

I was replacing two older analog garage door openers, which I tied into my smart-home setup using an iSmartGate Pro. I chose to purchase two of the Chamberlain (Model: B4613T MY-Q) partially because our Teslas are MY-Q compatible (Chamberlain’s proprietary connectivity method). However, Tesla are also traditional HomeLink compatible (which I prefer because it doesn’t require a paid subscription). After purchasing the Chamberlains, I came to learn that they stopped supporting any direct integration with the Apple HomeKit system. For a moment I was stuck, until I discovered Tailwind. Along with its installation instructions and video, installation and setup was a breeze. My Chamberlains needed a small supplemental device from Tailwind (not unlike a car fob), for Tailwind to access communication with Chamberlain. Installation of this separate device was easy but I couldn’t easily find a demonstration video for that additional piece… instead I just used the paper instructions included with the device (which struck me as incongruous seeing that the installation video of the main device video was perfect and readily available).

I could not ask for better support for a product. Scott has gone above and beyond helping with my connection issues. The opener is fantastic but I do recommend if you use a mesh router or thinking of changing to one make sure it works with Tailwind first.

Discovered the Tailwind device a few years ago. Have loved it. I needed help installing and Scott answered via support very quickly. Now finding the required adapter battery depletes within weeks. On reaching out, discovered there is an adapter with wired power. Again, support was quick, the device delivered very quickly and installed easily by connecting two wires and plugging into Tailwind device. Can not rate the device and support highly enough.

Really good product but GREAT customer service

Great company in terms of both product and service. I have placed several of their vehicle sensors as well as the garage door sensors at this point and both work great. The Tailwind staff was very quick and efficient whenever I had questions but the process was pretty easy to install. All the devices work well and as intended so far and have lots of options for customization. Would buy again for sure.

Very well put together device. Works as designed. Had an issue with an input from a door contact. Tech support promptly sent a replacement. All three doors work GREAT!

The application is slick and well done. However the implementation, at least for LiftMaster is not amazing. Besides drilling into the track, and running a ton of wire, it’s essentially just wired into a remote garage door opener that just clicks when you trigger. I thought it would be more sophisticated than that. So it’s not really an elegant solution. Ratgdo, however is much cleaner and easier. You wire the device into the opener and… you’re done. No remotes, no learning, no long wires, no additional garage door detection. It took a couple of minutes. They don’t have an app, to speak of, but integrates perfectly with HomeKit (and other solutions) which is enough. If the packaging/marketing/app of Tailwind combined with Ratgdo’s actual hardware implementation you’d have a pretty unbeatable product. But given the choice between the two, Ratgdo’s quick, clean installation is the better choice for us.

I love my iQ3 and the sensor for my wife. So far they work flawlessly and make life so much easier. I was waiting for a product that is Home kit compatible and I saw Shane Whatley do a you tube review. He said it is a great product and I 100% agree.

System runs exactly as advertised. Customer service was top notch. Scott the owner really cares about his customers. Hopefully the company continues to thrive, as the software is reliant on the company's server to run. I also hope that Tailwind doesn't convert to a subscription model for its software, as that would negate why I chose Tailward over other alternatives in the market in the first place.
