Bought it for use on my Harley. Works great when I arrive, love it however, I wish it would close the door sooner so I could see it close as I drive away.

Tailwind saved the day in giving me back remote access to open, close and monitor my sliding gate with the failed MyQ function on my Liftmaster RSL12UL operator. Technical support was great in getting it set up correctly.

The features are so much better than my MyQ. I love using night mode as well sometimes forget to close the garage door. The auto open when arriving home is also awesome!

Once you finally get it working, it’s great. Easily 5 stars. It’s getting to that point that is the hard part. It really isn’t hard to get it set up, but the instructions for both identifying what you need and putting it all together (once you eventually get everything) is terrible. The audience for their instructions are professional garage installers, even though it is ostensibly a consumer product. They really need to hire a professional to create their documentation. It’s a really good product, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who has never done basic wiring previously. Particularly, their directions for crimping the sensor wire to the opener wire are not up to snuff. They make it easy to do, but if you don’t know anything about wiring, they don’t explain it. As I said, I think this is a really good product. Improved documentation would make it great.

Tailwind is working better than I expected. First of all, there is no monthly fee to make things work. Here are the things I use and appreciate: 1. Drive away in my Tesla and the door shuts 2. Arrive home an the door is opening 3. I get notified on every open/close 4. I can open/close while away from home (very helpful when service was there an I was traveling) 5. See state of garage doors at any time

I am embarrassed to admit it but my wife and I headed out for an overnighter and left our garage door wide open the whole time! We did our research and purchased the Tailwind iQ3 2. 1 2nd Generation Smart Garage Door and Gate Controller along with a second door sensor and two vehicle sensors. Installation was simple, easy, and everything we needed was included. This is so well thought out. The most difficult part was just deciding where to run the wires. This thing just works, has great configuration options, phone notifications, and the just in case scheduling options are wonderful (close at night, close if left open for more than xx minutes, etc. ). We're very happy with the product!

Not received it yet

I purchased one iQ3 2. 1 and a PoE hat to power it. Unfortunately (1) the board was a dud and (2) I realized I needed another iQ3 2. 1 to support my needs. I reached out to customer service for a replacement PoE hat and ordered a new controller and PoE hat at the same time. When everything arrived I swapped out the dud and set up the new controller, things still didn’t work so I did a lot of part swapping only to realize that the replacement PoE hat was also a dud and the singe functioning PoE hat DOES NOT support data. It only allows power via the Ethernet jack but requires a connection to a WiFi network. Utter disappointment. Waste of time and money.
