It is extremely apparent that my neighborhood is not safe for dog walking. We have been attacked 3 times by loose dogs/escaped dogs from yards. My dog is my best friend and I protect him as best I can in these situations and thankfully he has not gotten hurt, but I got this collar as a back up in case it ever gets bad enough that he is bitten. The last time it was two pit bulls that were just let straight out of their house with no fence and they charged across the street. My dog is 45 pounds and as soon as soon as i saw those dogs i scooped him up like a yorkie and kept him from getting bit until the idiot owners came to get the dogs. They scratched me in multiple places and ripped my clothes trying to get to him. We have been lucky considering so far and I hope we never have to put the collar to use.
My 6 pound pomeranian is a favorite toy of our other dogs. They want to pick him up and carry him around. Cute , yes, but could lead to injuries. I put this on my little guy and so far the other dogs are leaving him alone. We also live in the country so hawks and coyotes are around. He looks pretty tough now too.
Its great a little big on him but i love that they sent us 2 cards with this vest that includes a number to call in case it was too big they have some straps they can send upon request so i just might do that so it can fit him snug and not so loose thank yall so much
My little, 13 year old, 8 pound, Yorkiepoochi (half Yourkie and equal parts toy poodle and Chihuahua), is always on my leash as I walk with him. However, living on a farm means that there are many predators for small animals. We have recently seen 2 coyotes up close in our backyard. š³ Thankfully, neither was near Rowdy as we were inside at the time. His coyote vest is literally a life saver!
I found out about the coyote vest through google. After our baby gurl, Kiwi was attacked in our front yard right in front of my eyes. I had let her out about 1 oāclock in the morning to go pee & she likes to go out in the grass in our circular driveway. A coyote pounced out of the bushes & had her in his jowls but dropped her when I screamed & started running after them. Iām so glad I found the coyote vest online. Donāt take any chances!! We live on a golf course & I thought coyotes only come out in the winter for some reason. She wonāt go out at night anymore without this vest on!
I have an old chihuahua thatās the biggest runner. I live in the country and itās great knowing I donāt have to worry if she goes to my moms beside me.
I feel my fur baby is so much safer from the hawk in our neighborhood ! I ordered extra spikes for the middle!
My little man is 8 lbs and fearless. We make sure to put his vest on every time he goes in the backyard. Itās a 15 second initiative to keep him safe and me from worrying that he is totally used to and doesnāt mind at all . In fact, he feels like heās in a biker gang so it makes him much more ferocious against the squirrels and chipmunks. We have had both the clip closure and Velcro and prefer the Velcro. It fits him better and is much easier to take on and off - but still secure. Thank you, Coyote Vest!
After an attack my that killed my previous doxie, I got my little one a Coyote Vest. Peace of mind!
I bought a coyote vest for my 9.2 lb papillon named lady back in 2020 and it is worth every penny!! I held off writing this review because I wanted to see how the vest would hold up and it has held up great! They are very well made. If you are thinking itās too expensive, just think, itās cheaper than a vet bill if something were to happen. We have lots of coyotes, wolves, owls and people with big dogs off leash around here, lady has been chased by big dogs a couple of times and I must say having this vest on her gives me such peace of mind! Itās not to say you shouldnāt still be careful, but it definitely gives your little dog a fighting chance if something weāre to happen. They are also the best high visibility vests ever for your dog, so if you live in an area where people hunt or there are lots of vehicles or 4-wheelers or snowmobiles around these definitely make people see your dog so they donāt get hit. I purchased the coyote vest, the whiskers and the throat guard. Definitely follow the size chart, I got extra small for lady and it fits perfectly. A couple things I would suggest: 1) If you are going to be doing very muddy and dirty activities get the coyote vest instead of the spike vest because the buckles will hold up better in the dirt. 2) On that note of mud and dirt, if you find that the Velcro attachments (like the wishers or spikes) are wanting to come off because you do very adventurous activities with your dog you can add a little stitch in between each of the spikes and whiskers to connect the attachments to the vest permanently. This helped us a lot because lady is constantly getting dirty so no Velcro no mater how awesome it is can stand up to that much dirt. 3) the other thing to keep in mind is the vest will slip around a little bit but if you have it done up tight enough around their tummy then it doesnāt move that much, so if you find it slips off to the side it could be that it just needs done up tighter. I have it done up where I can f...
Very happy with this purchase! This past year, the coyote sightings have been throughout the day and they are more aggressive than ever! I feel relieved but am still very cautious, they wear them on every walk.
The vests are constructed very well, and quite attractive! I would have given five stars, but for the fact that they do not fit well on small dachshunds. My dogs are very active and so particularly need these vests. However, if you get an extra small they are way too short and if you get a small they are way too long. I believe the company should consider offering an extra small long or a small short. There are many dachshunds out there who need protection! Thank you for a great product. Wish it was just a little bit better for my dogs.
My papillon is 5 years old and she's been attacked several times while we were out just walking. This made both of us extremely stressed, scared and nervous on our trips. No fun. She was also very nervous and wouldn't enjoy the trip. So this vest is worth gold! Love the spikes and she's getting so much protection. Now I feel safe. And I'm sure she does too. Great product. Also very fast shipping. LOVE IT ā¤ļøā¤ļø
We have been seeing more sightings of coyotes so I thought this will be perfect to protect my fur baby Sparkle.
I just bought the spike vest for my Cavalier. We have a major coyote problem where I live. My husband had her outside the other night, and there was a pack howling within a minute of her coming inside. This is some comfort to give me a little more protection. I wanted to post a photo, but can't figure out how to do it.
After my girl was attacked by an off-leash dog in the dense city area where we live, Iāve been crippled by anxiety. We both got away with minor injuries but it hasnāt been the same since. My dog bounced back with a good attitude, I didnāt so much. She isnāt as painfully vulnerable anymore. Iām not looking around corners and eyeing every other dog and itās owner with suspicion like I have been. Iām not denying her normal, healthy social interactions with other dogs because Iām too traumatized. Super selfish, I know, but itās hard when theyāre 8lbs and youāve had an eyeful of what can happen to them in a split second. I never wanted to be that nervous purse-dog lady, that wasnāt the plan. Now I donāt have to be! I canāt thank you guys enough, this jacket has quite literally given us our lives back.
Just picked the vest up a little while ago and took my dog for a walk...I had a lot of people asking me about it...they thought the vest was a great idea and told me they thought my dog looked cute in it!
Would Help if vest was halter type. Would be able to STAY in place
